Madison is still my favorite DB I've ever seen for this team. Some of that's due to bad defenses we had for a long time.....some of that is just cause he was awesome. Hoping Howard and Tank can become our new Madison and Surtain.

Brian is an amazing artist. My man cave has 5-6 of his pieces. He personalizes them and the uniqueness of it all, impresses people.

Madison though, is arguably the best corner in team history. He's certainly the best in my 30+ years as a fan. Once he became a starter in his second year, he had 8, 7 and 5 INTs the next three seasons, which is astounding. He was an absolute master at baiting certain QBs into throwing picks. I clearly remember him basically winning a SNF game vs the Titans almost by himself with three picks.
After that point, teams began not challenging him as much, and the defense worked by causing a lot of incomplete passes and forcing third and long more than actually taking the ball away so much, but he was still key.
In the end, he played nine years for the team, starting 127 games, and could have done more, but Saban wanted to go in another direction and he was expensive. While he and Surtian were paired up though, from 1999-2004 as the starters, we had one of the best pass defenses in the league.
Here's to hoping that Howard and Tankersly can develop into something similar!dolphin25, Boik14, Finster and 1 other person like this. -
Primetime was not sticking his head in no where to make no tackles on no RBs whatsoever, period, lol, so as a "do everything you can ask a CB to do well" player, Madman was > Primetime, for that 3-4 year period.
During that time frame, Sam was a full on, legit shut down island CB, you could leave him alone with any WR in the league, and they did, every game, and he could stymie the best WRs in the league.dolphin25 likes this. -

Wanny wanted to run the ball and play defense. His biggest mistake, and how he wasted prime years for both the defense and Ricky, was to think that Fielder was "good enough" at QB. Jay played with heart, sure, but was painfully average as far as QB talent is concerned.
