sammy is good stuff i tryed a sampler this winter with some pretty stout stuff that wasnt to bad. i liked the cranberry lambic. ever tried it?
Yes...reminded me of Framboise, except it was not quite as sweet... We ahve the 12 pack samplers on the shelves now, as cheap as I am, Sammy is very very persuasive...
Summer Ale is easily one of my favorite Sam Adams brews, particularly among their seasonals. I like to pick it up a 12 pack at a time. In fact ... *rushes out the door to nearest liquor store*
Absolutely great beers from Sam Adams. You do need to have a slightly developed pallet though. What I mean is, if your favorite beer is Bud Light, don't bother unless it's Sam Adams Light (which is a very good light beer, unlike Butt Light ) If you like rich, full flavored beers, you'll really enjoy their stuff.
It's a hefeweizen that has hints of lemon and something called "grains of paradise" in it. It's particularly yummy if you use it to make Summer Beer, something that I'll probably do this week. Another great summer beer (with more lemon flavor) is Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Both are just about the best thing you can drink when grilling out during the summer.
This is their best! Samuel Adams Irish Red Malty and slightly sweet, balanced by earthy notes from the hops. The gentle rain and fertile soil of Ireland helped inspire this style of ale, known for being remarkably balanced. Pale and Caramel malts give the beer its rich, deep red color and distinctive caramel flavor. The sweetness of the malt is pleasantly balanced by a pronounced hop bitterness and an earthy note from the East Kent Goldings hops. Samuel Adams® Irish Red finishes smooth and leaves you wanting to take another sip.
Sounds like they are staying true to the hefeweizen tradition. I love wheats, and make it alot myself this time of year. It really is the ultimate summer brew, cause it goes down so easy. Maybe too easy.
