"With trade speculation focusing on Marshawn Lynch, don't forget the Dolphins have been open to dealing RB Ronnie Brown for well over a year."

I would rather keep him, what is he getting back realistically?? mid round-late round pick at best?? Anybody who thinks Ronnie is netting back a 2nd or a 3rd after his 2nd season ending surgery in 3 years, and is in a walk year is fooling themselves...

Wonder if the 12th pick and Ronnie (or Ronnie and Ginn) might net us a trade-down partner, and if so, what we could get back.
-
trade Brown &/or GinnJr. for McFadden w/ the Raiders

-
so smiley, ginn, brown, thigpen and pennington are all on the block for the right price.
-
We will not get another RB, that has the talent and ability as Ronnie. I'd rather have him for half a year due to injuries than lose him for the whole year due to a trade.

Schefter is engaging in rank speculation, which in layman's terms is known as talking out of his ***.

I just have no clue what the game plan the f/o is trying to lay out. But I have been getting more and more frustrated with our f/o the past few years. It's not like Parcells has worked wonders or anything, just seems to be getting under my skin :cry:Puka-head likes this. -
I'd take a second for him any day of the week. Love Ronnie but I'm tired of the injuries. Can't count on him to ever make it through a full season.
-
the FO is willing to trade Ronnie because they know they aren't going to match his demands when he is ready to resign. Brown is going to demand big dollars.
I would love to trade him now and take what we can get for him. We need a more durable back. what good is a guy when he is injury prone and on the field only part of the time. -

it is unfortunate cause ronnie is a good back
he has his downfalls though
not staying on the field being the most glaring -

I will lose a lot of faith in the front office if we lose both JT and Ronnie in the same offseason.

Honestly, injury history or not, Ronnie Brown is worth 1st round tender.
We're gradually moving away from the Wildcat, I especially see it this year with Chad Henne's evolution. I'm willing to bet that if he stays healthy, we'll see some strong plays this year come out of that formation, because it will be used more sparingly. And no matter who we put back there to run it, none of our backs intimidate the opposing defense like Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. Unless Pat White literally takes an astronomical leap, we'll still gain first round tenderable performance out of Brown (if he stays healthy).
I'm trying to look at this one without bias, but I just think we'd kick ourselves if we got rid of him for less. Until we have a solid replacement for what he can do for our offense, we can't afford to let him go for less than a 1st. I say that mostly because the only way I'd personally be comfortable losing Ronnie is if we brought in someone like Spiller (with said 1st) to replace him. -

in the long run if not traded the FO will offer him a deal they think is fair
Brown will balk and be asked to test the market
if he gets no love he will come back
I would like to get something for him now as opposed to seeing that scenario play out -
McFadden misses 3.5 games average per season
7 games missed in 2 seasons
While Brown misses an average of 4 games per season
average...20 games in 5 seasons
Maybe the McFadden doll could come with an interchangeable Ronnie Brown jersey :wink2:MrClean likes this. -
It must be a slow newsday for Shefter to repeat the same rumor he used last year which proved to be nothing more than hot air.
Of course RB is available for a trade just like any player on the Dolphin roster but the question is at what price and who is willing to pay it.HULKFish, dirtywhiteboy and Frumundah Finnatic like this. -

Good Job ESPN, you are one step closer to being surpassed by PFT. -
Brown is obviously a first round talent. But this isn't a QB or a pass rushing linebacker we're talking about. Running back is one of the most easily filled positions in football. Anyone who wants to give up a #2 for an oft-injured back in the last year of his contract will get him from this front office.
