Anderson # 9 ????? I mean the kid had a great year, but it was only one year. Can he prove himself before we put him in the top 10? Vince Young #20, I would take a of players under him before Young.
I'm guessing age is the factor that puts him ahead. Definitely not a perfect list. Carson Palmer should probably be 3 or 4 as opposed to 6. I think Romo and McNabb should switch spots. And I hope to hell Josh McCown is better than Cleo Lemon. Culpepper is way too high. And poor Byron Leftwitch. Man has that guy taken a beating. Narrowly loses the starting job in Jacksonville and now nobody will touch him. To rate him as worse than guys like Drew Stanton and Vinny Testaverde is just piling on. I'm surprised a team like the Bears doesn't sign the guy.
I agree with you. Palmer seems to be underrated, probably because hes in Cincy. As for the age factor, I understand that but the guy hasn't even participated in a Training Camp yet. I always felt like rookies should not be listed this early because of their inactivity in a real NFL game.
Yeah, although I can appreciate how hard it would be to make a list like this, Anderson at 9 is just a monumental leap of faith. Vince Young at 20 is insane. Young has yet to throw more TDs than INTs and his QB rating last year was 71.1
What did they just draw numbers out of a hat for some of these? I don't get this at all... rookies who have never thrown an NFL pass rated above veterans... this whole list is pretty worthless. I guess they are allowed their opinion.
Would anyone here take Brady over Manning? Maybe its the Phins homer in me but I will forever question the guy with what we know about Spygate. Hes a great QB no doubt, but best in the NFL?
Hard to say. It's scary to think what Manning would do with those receivers and that offensive line. But he's got pretty solid receivers and a solid line himself. We also can't forget that Manning wasn't running up the score on opponents to pad his numbers. Not this year at least. But Manning has been known to turn in some pretty awful performances in big games. Can't say that about Brady. So it comes down to Mannings talent vs. Brady's clutch play. Tough call. Flip a coin. Very hard for me to write anything positive about any Patriot. Fingers are cramped up.
That is exactly what it is. Someone had a deadline to throw a list together to present new content and they pretty much did exactly what you said. You have to realize that the avg. fan isn't going to question anyone on things like this so it dosen't matter what they throw on a site. You gotta love that Henne is 10 spots ahead of McCown. I'm not expecting great things from McCown at all but he has proven that he can put up a good fight at the QB spot in the NFL while Henne has shown nothing and is a complete unknown. Pointless media drivel.
This is true. Funny though, no one (in the media) has mentioned that Brady has been the one laying eggs lately. That Denver game a few years ago was horrible, the 2nd half against Indy a couple years ago was AWFUL and the Super Bowl last year... you get the idea. Obviuously he gets a pass because he won 3 SB's before those games. But had Manning won an SB 5 or 6 years ago I dont think he has the reputation he does now (or did before winning)
IMO its a toss up between them. I would gladly have Brady on my team. Hes a top caliber QB in this league no doubt, Bellicheat or no. I hate that he plays for the Pats and they are a good team, but if he was a FA ..... As for some of the rankings, its all up for debate beyond who the top 2 are. I always like the Jay Cutler kool-aid the media seems to be on. And Donovan McNabb has been overrated for years. Hopefully we will see Beck or Henne in that top grouping soon.
Probably because he has a stronger arm, wasn't out of football for several years before continuing in college, and has better mechanics. Plus you have to consider (although it wasn't all his fault) the bumbles and jumbles that took place when he was under center last season.
Yay, at least we got someone in the top 50 considering a lot of ex-Dolphins QB's are (Griese-44, Harrington-45, Green-48, Culpepper-33).
In other words all the Dolphins QBs are at about the same level, and none are proven starting calibre NFL QBs.
Perhaps the better question is why Mike Vick is even on this list at all. I mean, that dude's in jail and wont be playing this season. Or next. Or possibly again. Which is fine with me. We all know how I feel about Vick.
Silly list after you get beyond the top 15 or so. I don't understand how Sage is ranked below the likes of Orton, Stanton, Fry, Carr and Harrington.
