for example...people keep waiting for Wade to become a 40% 3 point shooter. he won;t be. He would be a 35% 3 pt. shooter if he dedicated himself to it. But he feels that hurts his efficiency and thus he won't grow into a better 3 pt. shooter.

Wade used his growth curb to improve his intermediate game and did it succesfully. very much like Jordan and Kobe. Although Kobe added a 3 pt. shot along the way as well.

He is already averaging 20 and 14...

So you think he is going to get worse as a rebounder, and only add 2pts per game more in the next 4 years of development?

Do you realize how silly that sounds?

And if those numbers were an aberation from his previous seasons, you may have a point. But 20/14 isnt an aberation...

    A progression is clearly evident.

    Yearly Averages:
    Year 1 - 12/10
    Year 2 - 16/12.5
    Year 3 - 17.5/12.5
    Year 4 - 20.5/14

Dwight is the youngest player to reach 1,000 rebounds, 2,000 rebounds, 3,000 rebounds, and 4,000 rebounds.

To act like 14 rebounds per game is some aberation is rediculous...

I really dont see why that is so much of a stretch...

Adding 1 rebound per game and 4 points per game to where he is at now?

As you say, the earliest he starts peaking is around 26... which is 4 years from now(which i disagree with, but moving on). I think it is far from a stretch for him to marginally improve his current game to that...

No love for the Atlantic division PGs in Rondo and Harris?

If Rondo ever develops the ability to knock down a 17 footer with any type of consistency, he'll be among the most talented PGs in the league.

    Yes.

Had Beasley started all year...he would have averaged 20 ppg and 7 reb's..and still wouldn't be the ROY in my eyes.

    Westbrook is the real deal.

Rose is a chucker...OJ Mayo as well...Lopez is a plotter...Love just knocks people down....

    Westbrook is the ROY ...IMO.

    yeah he is.

What is awesome for him he wasnt a major recruit out of HS and he developed so much from his Freshman to his Sophomore Yr at UCLA that it shocked all the fans. None of us expected him to progress so much in that little of time.

Calderon is pretty good but he didnt distinguish himself as much as I had hoped he would. I envisioned him as the next Steve Nash when in reality hes just a lot more average then that. Good passer but hes not a commanding presence.

Do us all a favor and flip Durant and Iggy. By next year this time Durant will be a top 7 player. He is on the verge of being simply ridiculous. And hes going to have a sweet supporting cast with Westbrook, Green, Sefolosha (Who they outright stole from Chicago) and now another lottery pick. 3 years or less they will be a top seed in the west if they get a quality big. He averaged 25 a game, rebounds adequately well for a SF, not a great passer yet but not bad and he shoots the ball really well from everywhere. Almost 48% from the floor/86% from the line/41% on 3's.

I would flip Granger and Brand and possibly still slide Granger up a few more spots. Hes a borderline top 20 player. There's nothing he doesnt do well. He is what Rudy Gay should be.

For the love of God get Tmac off that list bro. Any of your "knocking on the door picks" would have been better then him. Rose especially deserves to be on that list. He will be a top 20 player sooner then later.

Shawn Marion is a shell of what he was. He doesnt belong on this list anymore. Sub in Devin Harris. This is one of the most glaring disagreements I have. Marion needs to be in an up-tempo offense if he wants to be effective at this point in his career.

Those top 4 players (imo its Lebron, Wade, Paul, Kobe) you can debate all day but #5 is not debateable. Its Dwight Howard. The games most dominant big man plays with the heart and passion Dirk lacks and he's the best defensive player in the game.

Tyson Chandler doesnt belong on that list either. Sub in either Ray allen, Vince Carter, OJ Mayo, or Mo Williams. Your choice. Theyre all better then Chandler. Maggette and Josh Howard are just as interchangeable as the players on this list and theyre strictly scorers who dont do much else particularly well. Carter, Mayo, Williams, and Allen are more complete players who arent nearly as high maintenance.

Ramon Sessions needs to at least be on the waiting list. He was absolutely excellent when he was given the chance to play. Anyone who plays fantasy basketball knows exactly how good he was. He's closer to being a top tier PG then maybe even Calderon.

Gerald Wallace needs to be moved way down. Id swap him with Al Jefferson if Jefferson was healthy but seeing as how he's not we'll leave Jefferson where he is and instead swap Wallace and Caron Butler.

Boozer and Yao could be flipped. Yao is a better offensive player and a more intimidating player in the paint.

There's a few other tweaks I would make but overall the list isnt bad. You had most of the right players just the wrong spots in my opinion. But you know there is going to be disagreement when you make a list like this.

Major problem with this Boik. MAJOR problem. first of all, none of the guys you mentioned are "complete" players. Josh Howard happens to be a very good defender. a VERY good defender. as in knocking on the door of second team all-nba defense...and his offensive game is complete.

Maggette has one of the smartest offensive games int he league. His game WINS. he gets to the line and takes great shots. Big fan of his.

as for Gerald Wallace...WHOA. I remind you that Gerald Wallace is a DPOY candidate omn any given year and the best defensive SF in the league. oh..and he can put up 20 ppg as well.

TMAC is on the list because it is hard to drop from a top ten player to out in less than 2 years...just like Gilbert Arenas...injury is a *****.

So Mo Williams isnt a great defender? On one of the leagues best defenses? Hes not a winner? On the leagues winningest team? Please. Corey Maggette is a good player but hes a 6th man on one of the worst teams in the league. Josh Howard could be on this list in any given year talent wise but hes a headcase. I would take any of the players I listed over him even in his best year. Hes simply not as talented and not as good. But id rather see him on this list then Maggette who's inclusion is frankly inexplicable bro.

Wallace is a fantasy basketball players dream because he plays the passing lanes well and is a good weakside defender. But he is not a great on the ball defender as he gets overpowered and relies strictly on his athleticism. His offensive game and shooting leave something to be desired though Id find a spot for him somewhere on thsi list for sure. Just not ahead of Danny granger.

T-Mac is T-Rash now. Washed up, done, game over. Hes always been a poor shooter. He couldnt get it done with Yao and Artest its never happening for him.

Mo williams is a mediocre defender.

    As for Maggette...LOL...yeah...he is a sixth man...averaging 18.6 ppg...

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/corey_maggette/

    he is good. real good.

and his game WINS...watch his game...it is not a chuckers game. this is not ricky davis.

both of those guys are in the list..but on the knocking list.

for harris...he starts next year like he finished this one..he gets int he top 50.

    same for Rose.

GONNA BE HARD to keep Beasley off the TOP 20 next year. This kid is nuts.

Nate Robinson averages like 17 a game and is a hell of a lot more entertaining and is also a better player. What exactly has Maggette's game won? Nothing since college. He was overrated then and he's overrated now.

I dont know what more you need to see from harris? he's a hell of a lot better then I ever thought he was. They outright stole him from Dallas. I would take him over Kidd right now straight up let alone the fact NJN got other players with him. Rod Thorn is a master and we are mere mortals.

Rose kind of reminds me of a lesser Dwayne Wade. His game is all about getting to the rack and getting to the stripe and he does a great job of it as a rookie. He lacks the body control and overall strength Wade lacks but Rose's rookie season is damn comparable to Wade's.

Beasley is the one that worries me. He's already a top 50 talent but I see too much Zach Randolph in his game. He scores and rebounds, worries about his 20 and 10 but he hasnt shown himself to be a committed defender either in the pro's or college.

I think I'm going to work on a Top 50 after the playoffs... or maybe sometime during. Always thought about doing one. Should be fun.

I think every NBA fan should come up with their own.

My top 5 is locked in:

    1. LeBron James (CLE)
    2. Dwyane Wade (MIA)
    3. Kobe Bryant (LAL)
    4. Dwight Howard (ORL)
    5. Chris Paul (NO)

His STYLE of game is what I am referring to as far as a "winning style".

he gets to the foul line...he is a very good passer and he gets good shots. rarely takes bad shots..and he is big in the clutch.

Nate Robinson is a novelty act and the 3rd best player on a bad team. Kinda a big strike against him.

Rose is nowhere as efficient as Wade was. Wade is also built like Ronnie Brown...Rose is built like Lorenzo Booker.

As for Beasley...I watch him alot obviously...his defense is light years from where it was early in the year. The Heat drills defense constantly...so he will get it.

he threw a shot back into Al Horfords face last night. We are seeing things like that more often. His defensive rebounding has been sick lately as well.

As a heat fan..I am all smiles with Beasley.

You can make the same argument for maggette being the third best player on his team behind biendrins and ellis. While robinsons shot selection can be questionable at times he too is a good passer and he's a catalyst...when he plays well the knicks win.

    25. Baron Davis
    26. Carlos Boozer
    27. Andre Igodala
    28. Manu Ginobli
    29. Allen Iverson
    30. Al Jefferson
    31. Devin Harris
    32. LaMarcus Aldridge
    33. Rudy Gay

    46. Kevin Martin
    47. Ray Allen
    48. OJ Mayo
    49. Marvin Williams
    50. Jason Kidd

On the Bubble: Rajon Rondo, Ben Gordon, Rasheed Wallace, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, Zach Randolph, Josh Howard, J.R. Smith, Richard Hamilton, Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon, Shawn Marion, Andrew Bynum, Chris Kaman, and Al Horford.

The top four are interchangeable in my opinion. You can make a great case for any of them and we would have an argument for days. Howard needs another great year or two to get in the discussion and he's certainly capable of it.

I gave Garnett the nod over Duncan by virtue of the fact that Garnett is simply a better player at this point. Garnett is probably a more meaningful player to his team. In the 20+ games Garnett has missed the Celtics are averaging 8 more PPG allowed. Williams is right on the brink of overtaking them both. He's only a shade behind Paul stats wise and only his health prevents him from being on an equal par.

Durant will eventually be a better version of Dirk. Dirk still has a better all around game in my opinion while Durant may already be a better scorer.

Billups is just a winner. His stats dont justify his ranking because he clearly doesnt worry so much about stats as he does wins when you watch him play.

didn;t overreact and drop Wade to #4...but if he continues to have this season he is having...then there could be a new #3.

the top 3 has not changed since last season...there are some shake ups in the rest of the list.

He would be the new #3...maybe...if Wade continues on this path...I will update it after another 30 games...

on a side note...had he not gotten hurt..I was going to put Greg Oden in the top 50.

Michael Beasley in the last 10 games is averaging 19 ppg and 9 rebs....on 50% + shooting...

at this pace,....he will crack the top 50 this season.

Tyreke Evans might also get in there before the season ends.
