Sect, I do admit you do know your basketball. But to put James and Wade above Kobe? Exciting doesn't equal greatness. Out of the 3, Kobe has the better outside shot, better mid-range shot, better post-game, better ft shooting, better on-the-ball defense, and lets not forget the best closer in the game? NBA legends, CREDIBLE analysts, and "BASKETBALL fans" say Kobe is the best while "NBA fans" will say Lebron's the best because he's the most exciting with his high-flying dunks and whatnot. Even The Great MJ, regarded by many as the greatest to ever grace the hardwood says Kobe is the best and its not even close yet people still put Kobe at the bottom of the top 3? I smell bias...

you can smell bias all you want. I put him at #3 this season for the first time ever. I did not change the list from the end of the season. All I did was update the teams they play for.

    Kobe slowed down a ton.

and he was terrible, TERRIBLE in the finals. the worst finals MVP in who knows how long.

6-24 in game 7...yep...#3 is fine.

Please flip dirk and bosh. Dirk is a much better player. Roy and igoduala should be flipped. Stephen curry and Andrew bynum should be switched as should three Evans and mo Williams. None of those are really up for debate.

Dirk's repeated failure as a "star" in the playoffs.....has dropped him from his debut at #4 on my list to where he is now.

He played on the most talented team from top to bottom in the league last year. Well coached too.

    First round exit.

and i dont care he went 6-24 in game 7. He got his ring and last i saw LeQueen quit on his team. But i guess he shouldnt drop for that :tongue2:

Oh well this list is only 1 persons opinion and youre never going to please everyone.(just Heat fans) :wink2:

as opposed to bosh who has an almost as talented starting lineup and can't make the playoffs. Gotcha. The only thing bosh does better is rebound. Dirk is a better offensive player

and I put a TON of stock in him really only earning ONE finals mvp in 7 tries. (this last one was a joke..Gasol was the MVP)

    On which planet?

Dallas is better at every single position, including the first 4 guys off the bench.

Dallas, last year had the most talented squad 1-9 in the entire NBA. first round...gone.

LOL. Yeah, no way the B2B MVP is #1.

Yep. Choked. to the tune of:

A TRIPLE DOUBLE in the last game of the playoffs..

    27 points 19 rebounds 10 assists.

game 5, last game, doenst matter, bottom line he choked. kobe has rings. lebron already has the rep of being a choke artist so until he wins one you cant have him number one. kobe's been money in crunchtime in the playoffs throughout his career

Kobe isn't the best player in the league. I don't care how clutch people think he is. The best is Lebron, and it isn't even close, imo.

I dont see how clutch and best go together. D. Fisher has been more clutch than a lot of the guys in the top 50. That doesn't make him the best, or Antione Walker for that matter.

If you want me to say who is best:

    1) Lebron
    2) Wade
    3) Kobe

If you wanna know who is the most clutch

    1)Kobe
    1A) Wade
    2) Lebron

If you want to know who I want on my team most?

    1) Wade
    2) Lebron
    3) Kobe

    LOL How about:

    Barnagni > dampier/Haywood
    Bosh < Dirk
    Turkaglou = Butler
Josh Howard > Derozan (for now)
    Kidd = Calderon/Jack

Dirk does not have a second consistent scoring option. His team's first round exit was as much due to the lack of time to gel from their acquisitions at the deadline as it was from phoenix's excellent play. And at no time was it more evident that the lack of a second option killed Dallas then vs Phoenix. The guy averaged 27/83apg/1bpg/1spg while shooting 55%FG/57%3Pt/95%FT. What else would you like him to do? He was better across the board in every stat save for steals.

So you can use the "lack of help" excuse for Lebron and its not valid for Dirk? Got it. Take off the Heat shaded glasses. I understand your team has had one of the greatest weeks off the court in NBA history, no doubt, but dude come on.

He had bosh at this same spot before he was a heat, he just changed around the teams they were on, he said he didnt make any actual rankings changes.

Also, section, im assuming youre gonna head over to Heatfreak, you should probably copy and paste this into a new thread over there, would help start breeding life into the new site and create some discussion.

Oh please. He was non existence in that game. Its funny you didnt add that he had almost the most coveted Quadruple double with 9 Turnovers. Of course that link doesnt show the breakdown of his performance.
    http://www.nba.com/games/20100513/CLEBOS/gameinfo.html
He shot a pathetic 8/21 38% from the floor. I know every player have off nights but you make it seem he played great. The Heat no doubt have a hellavu lineup so far but back to reality they havent done anything.

As for...".back to reality, they haven't done anything." The Season starts in late October. Of course they haven;t done anything.

kidd is a future hofer but at this point he's no better then Calderon or jack. He's less of a threat as a score then he's ever been.

Hedo had an outstanding 08-09 and an average 09-10, but butler has been an average player on a bad team for the last few years which makes me exceptionally wary.

As far as dirk goes, bosh may have more natural ability but dirk is by far the better player. His numbers are better, his team is better, he's a perennial top five mvp vote better....this isn't really a debate. Bosh carries none of those credentials.

we are not going to agree on Butler...or Kidd.

and again...Dirk's failures have to matter in this debate. You are just saying, "yeah...BUT."

I am saying that his failures weigh heavy for me.

I do not share your enthusiasm for that Toronto roster. I think that roster sucks.

I am saying at least dirk has elevated his team to a playoff spot every year. Bosh's teams have a career record of being 100+ games under 500. He can't even get to the playoffs. How are you going to sit there and criticize one of the most consistent players in the nba for failing to elevate his team in the playoffs and the guy you put ahead of him can't even elevate his team to a playoff spot in 6 out 7 years? Not to mention the fact that dirk playoff stats are better then his regular season stats so I'm not really understanding how the teams playoff failures fall specifically on him.

I don't think we are going to agree on any of this dude. I respect your opinion but can't agree.

Lebron wasnt very good in the playoffs either? Infact he played like poo and gave a sh-tty effort....

Kobe can take his team to the finals and win Lebron cannot and we will never know if he could.

Can't be a king if you ain't got any rings. Lebron may eventually get his ring but he is no king because no king is a follower. Lebron will never be in the category of greats like MJ, Magic or Bird because of this move. He is just as talented but leadership wise he falls behind them.

btw Kobe is king of the NBA. Its up to the heat to dethrone him.

    What?

He averaged 29.1 points on 50% shooting while averaging 9.3 RPG and 7.6 APG in the playoffs.

    He outperformed his regular season.

Now..you want to see who played like poo and gave ****ty effort? Check his teammates numbers.

as for that second line...neither could Michael Jordan. Till he got a hall of famer to play with. That loser Magic Johnson needed 2 hall of famers to win. Larry Bird needed 3 hall of famers.

Kobe has sucked in 6 of 7 NBA Finals appearances.

LeBron may well be the most physically gifted player the NBA has ever seen. But as a pure NBA basketball player, where the goal is to win, and win a championship? No, he is not, and will likely never be the best player. He chose to follow DWade and will choose to let DWade take the crunch time shots while he WOWs the crowd. That is his game.

Apparently you didn't see his game winning shot against Orlando last year. Or game 6 of the EC Finals in 07 when he erupted for 25 straight points to lead his team to the finals.

Guys, stop making stuff up. Lebron is the man, plain and simple.

Name the player LeBron has played with that's even half the player Pau Gasol is. Can Kobe not win by himself? Could micheal Jordan not win by himself since he needed pippin? You cannot win by yourself in this league.
