I don't doubt it. Tannehill fits Shanahan's type to a T whereas before the draft I had a tough time believing that Shanahan was really driving the train on RG3.

I soo badly want Tannehill to top 20 Td's this year..it is a sort of obsession for me.
I'm sick of dealing with the fact only Jay effn' Fiedler has thrown for 20 Td's or more for this team in over 10 yrs...think about that for a moment
Last yr it also seemed like THill got into a negative Td to Int ratio and just could not break out of it, this yr he is 4 Tds to the > side by my count, which is great

I know, but suspect if we are to make a playoff push, he has to up that to 2 Td's per gm
As I look back at stats and memory...wow..have we had bad Qb play..or mediocre Qb play
Considering Wallace has 1 Td reception, and THill is basically using Bline/Clay and has no running game, it makes it more impressive.
Hell if we just had an Avg Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams season who knows where THill would be atm -
Shanahan system prob a perfect fit for Tannehill. I wouldn't be opposed to Mike Shanahan coaching the Dolphins in 2014.

Yeah, he just needs a line. The other pieces are there. Even the defense, in its current state is good enough. Seriously, a couple of less sacks that caused fumbles and we're a 7-3 team right now.
The "scandal" has mixed with peoples' decades long frustration and colored the view of this team so that many think we're no better than the 1-15 team. In reality, we're just an oline away from being one of the better teams in the league.DOLPHAN1 and Unlucky 13 like this. -
Agreed. Snyder is a big problem in Washington. I still really like Shanahan.

I'd add experience as well, we are just a very young team and imo, some of the losses have come from a lack of it on the roster.
I like Philbin and Sherman's approach to Tannehill, like the coach them up stuff.
Looking at Matthews, Shelby and Vernon, Clay
BUT, the downside is sometimes we have the best system fits on the field, not the most talent

as much as i hate on wallace, the two of them will click eventually. it will happen. once they start linking up i expected 2-3 to be the norm.

Agree, his system would be perfect for Tannehill. Not sure I would like him as Miami's coach, or see him getting the axe for that matter, but his experience wouldn't hurt.

Snyder actually isn't as big of a problem as he used to be. He's kinda letting the football guys do their thing. And Shanahan trying to run RG3 into the ground is also a huge problem.

No coach has won a Super Bowl with a new team after winning one with the previous one right?
Small sample size maybe but it is something to consider . Don't buck telling trends , this is too important to take another misstep. -

And for the general public, how does Shannys system fit Tanny perfectly. -

Especially if he can dial in the deep ball to Wallace.
Here is an interesting thought, "if' Philbin is canned, this will be the first time since JJ came here that a new HC actually has a good Qb to work with, wow, that is amazing to consider, JJ came here what...almost 20 yrs ago

The most important part of this though is to get the GM and scouting staff right. That is the aspect that has held this team back since the 2000 season.
Got to have good personnel people, and the personnel guy and head coach have to be on the same page. I think a big part of what we are seeing with all this mess is that Joe Philbin and Jeff Ireland do not see eye to eye on personnel. -
Correct that no coach has won a SB with 2 different teams. Not correct on the sample size. 5 playoff appearances (1 win...that was the stat I was thinking of) in 13 coaching seasons since the SB wins. 11 TD in 6 games is excellent QB production. Thats outside only that Rodgers/Brees/Peyton etc crew. Thats the type of season I expected him to have. I think I predicted 30TD...I would take 25 at this stage given that the first 10 games havent gone as well as I wanted for Tannehill stat-wise.
The point about the Qb's is interesting, sad and true all at once :( -

Actually 3 of his 11 INT's have been via chucking it up at the end of games...
Saints on 3rd and 14
Patriots on 4th and 24
Bucs on 4th and 28
If you're evaluating his TD/INT ratio to judge his decision making, etc... hes sitting at 14 TDs, 8 INTs. Almost a 2/1 ratio...
A hell of an improvement over last year... and significant progress from year 1 to year 2... -

I wouldn't mind it one bit either but the win yesterday probally means we will keep everyone and we will go back to losing next season that is the future unless Ross wises up and does the right thing. -

Honestly, I'm not sure how I'm being so cryptic. I made a thread, that you obviously read where I state i was wrong about Philbin....and in that I explain why.
The tide turned for me with the Tampa game. It wasn't so much that we lost, it was that the team started the game flat. To me, a team coming out fired up after the week they had is a mark of a great coach. Plus, he needs to fix his coordinators and he isn't.
Here's the best part.....I may be wrong later. The team could turn it around and make the playoffs and then I'll realize I was wrong about being wrong. -

I'm not being cryptic. IMO... either a coach is good or he isn't. If he's a good coach, I want him. If he's not, I don't. Tampa came out fired up, especially with the home crowd fired up for MNF and punched us in the mouth. We countered and punched them back. You're going to get punched in a fight... but how you respond is the more important reflection IMO.
Either he's a good coach, or he isn't. I believe he is, and don't think a team coming out hot at home is some damning reflection, especially since the team didnt roll over.
But I've derailed this thread enough...
