This is meant in the nicest possible way and no disrespect is intended, but Brett Favre needs to shut up. Please, Brett, no more rambling about the prospect of coming out of retirement. No more thinking out loud about the pros and cons of returning. No more speculation in response to hypothetical questions. Even the hint Favre might play again will send certain fans and media outlets over the edge. It's not inconceivable that some people will root for Aaron Rodgers to get hurt. Intended or not, Favre's comments added to Rodgers' heavy burden. It's difficult enough following a legend, but it will become harder if there's a perception Favre is waiting in the wings.

I think I kind of agree with that... Rogers has got to be thrilled with the chance to finally take over the pack, yet at the same time he's probably one of the most stressed out guys in the league at the task facing him. Following a legendary QB is never easy, just ask any one of the guys that has tried to place Marino since he left the game. Brett has done this for what... the last 3 years now? maybe ill play... maybe ill retire... no wait... i want to play. Now he's made it "official" that he's done, and he's contemplating coming back again if needed? He should just pack it in, enjoy his retirement, or shut his mouth and keep playing. Either way, stop dragging this nonsense on.

Careful Brett, I heard Tonya Harding is looking for work.....

Brett, go out on top of your game. Just let it go and move on.:hi5:

Brett doesn't want to sit home listening to his kids and having his wifey tell him to take care of his chores on Sunday. I don't get why Brett retired after having a great year?....he can still play at a high level for many years. Look for Favre to make a comeback this Fall, but maybe with another team besides the Packers.

Yeah but it is not like he was a Packer his whole career...he was also an Atlanta Falcon. -
I think that makes that time in Atlanta rather insignificant... Favre was, and will ALWAYS be a Green Bay Packer, and it would be difficult seeing him play for anyone else...opfinistic and alen1 like this. -
I never understood all the hate. If jerry rice came out of retirement I'd be happy as hell just to see a great try one last time.....

I don't quite get the bashing Favre gets. And I'm not even a Packer fan or the closest thing to one. From what I've seen, he's been trying to keep out of the limelight and his only consideration is if Packers get injury woes at QB as an emergency option. That's not exactly something to bash him for, if it isn't downright respectable. It's the media trying to generate news in an otherwise slow month for the league like the LA Times, which also retracted a story claiming P. Diddy had something to do with Tupac's death.

Oh don't get me wrong here guys, im not bashing on Brett. I love the guy, he's an outstanding football player, theres no doubt about that at all. Im just saying he needs to make up his mind once and for all. If you want to play, great... play. If you want to retire, great... retire. Just dont say youre going to do one thing (retire) then come out and say you might come back. Just make a decision already. Thats my only gripe
