Great read, thanks.Yeah we had a chance to beat both those teams and came close. I don't think they will both be undefeated going into the playoffs for some reason. Also I can't believe some of the disrespectful comments on this story on pft, wow.

If the Colts rest their players against Jax then that is one game they will lose. The Saint have an easier schedule, but they coulda/shoulda lost a couple close games and sooner or later it will come back to bite them.

I can't remember any other athlete saying he was "worried" a record was going to fall. It's a curious reaction.

None of the guys come forward and talk about it until the press starts their junk.
I agree on the comments about Shula. IMO, people that talk trash about such a great man and coach are full of themselves and probably jealous they never had such a man lead their teams. Or, just really ignorant about football.
IF, one of them go un-defeated they will join us as number 2.
I'm sick of all the bashing and crap that team and us older fans get because we are proud of our history (and the team we have today.)
There will never be a season like that again. It was unbelievable, heart stopping at times and wonderful.
I don't care if someone only started being a fan a few years ago or what ever. We older fans will always have this to cherish and be proud of. And those players should be able to talk about it whenever they want to.
So, I say poo to all the nay sayers. I will always be proud of this franchise and talk about that great '72 team when ever I want to.:tongue2:dolfan7171 likes this. -
nothing will happen......they will just do the same thing we did....no better....no worse....undefeated is undefeated....1-0 or 20-0

the only thing that matters is the lombardi trophy. any coach will tell you that.
records are personal & this is why shula is taking it as such. it's warranted because he's the only coach to do it and is as of this moment a one of a kind.
there's one thing that can never be taken and it's that he did it first.Colorado Dolfan, dolfan7171 and dolphindebby like this. -
The entire nature of competition only cements their legitimacy if a record is held. Why even keep record of records if they did not mean something? I think any athlete who holds a particular record is always worried it will one day be broken. At least Shula is admitting to it. It's just plain competitiveness/selfishness. Athletes may not admit it, but records, are generally welcomed.
** Man, I totally overused "record" ** -
And yes, I agree it's a personal thing. Because we witnessed it and football was a harder game back then. No brady rules etc.dolfan7171 likes this. -
hey man, let it happen. Its not the patriots. Its not tom Brady and bill belicheck. Im fine with it.
It's going to happen sooner or later.Colorado Dolfan and Uncle Rico like this. -

The truth of it is that both of them are winning a lot of very close games and have often been bailed out by an exceptional play late in the game. This time of the year when teams are really scrapping to get into the playoffs, combined with both of them wrapping up their divisions, I think they will both fall. And truth be told I don't think either of them are dominant enough to make it all the way hands down.
