"Shula predicted that Pittsburgh will defeat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but admitted his AFC bias. He usually pulls for the conference he coached."
I am pulling for the Steelers because of my AFC bias, but Shula's bias is far different than ours. When the NFL merger happened in 1969 people like Vince Lombardi shot off their mouths at how inferior the AFL (which became the AFC) was in comparison to the NFL (which later became the NFC)
Don Shula, who came out the of Paul Brown's coaching tree with the Cleveland Browns, an AFC team, had an obvious axe to grind with the opinion that the AFC was "inferior". He later coached the Baltimore Colts and then the Miami Dolphins to the Super Bowl and made sure that he rubbed it the faces of the NFC "superior" coaches. Much of coach Shula's greatness came from his "Axe to Grind" mentality against the NFC big mouths.
This is one of the reasons that I love coach Shula so much. Not only is he a great guy, and a great coach and he has proven his point many times to the NFC, he never forgot his AFC loyalty or his roots in Cleveland to his mentor Paul Brown, an AFC coach.
Now that's the mark of a great man by any opinion.

i dont think my stomach could handle seeing a rapist hold up another lombardi trophy

I’m hoping for the Packers, because I really think they deserve the win, but the Steelers are probably going to scratch one out. -

I cannot foresee a situation where the Steeler defense doesn't totally shut the Packers down leaving Rodgers running for his life in escape mode.
When you consider that eleven of the Steelers on the roster played in their last Super Bowl victory while the Packers only have two players returning from their last Super Bowl it will be safe to say that the Packers will be crapping their pants.
I respect the Packers and the history behind their franchise but I see no way they can beat this Pittsburgh team. The Steelers win ugly, but win is the operable word. It totally amazes me that Pittsburgh is getting 2.5 points.

I am not a betting man but this spread looks way off to me. -

I heard a guy who uses a 50,000 possible game outcome scenario machine on Lebatard on Friday. The machine 10-0 in the playoffs this year with a 4 yr track record of 65% (with the spread). Packers by 3 or 4, 21-18 if not more...

Sorry Shula, Pack 24, Steelers 17. It is only right.

My money's on the Steelers too.

I'm torn. guy I work with is a steelers fan, so I really don't want to hear his crap all offseason. no love for the Packers.
but, my grandfather worked for a short time in the Pennsylvania steel mills, so I'll take that, as well as my AFC bias, as my tiebreaker... half-hearter Go Steelers. -
