In Brett Favre's first game as a Jet against the Dolphins and former Jets QB Chad Pennington, the former Packers great threw for two scores in a 20-14 New York victory. Pennington's red-zone interception late in the fourth quarter sealed the game for the Jets.

With both squads off to 5-1 starts, this Monday Night game looked to decide who was top dog in the AFC East. The Dolphins held a commanding 30-7 lead going into the fourth quarter, but Vinny Testaverde threw four fourth-quarter touchdowns to tie the game at 40 before kicker John Hall gave New York the win in overtime. The game would be nicknamed the Monday Night Miracle.

New York completed its rebuilding phase under Bill Parcells, scoring a late touchdown off a Dan Marino fumble to ultimately bring the Big Tuna his first AFC East title as Jets coach.

Miami rallied from a 24-6 deficit to trail only 24-21 in the closing seconds. Near the Jets goal line, Dan Marino motioned as if he were going to spike the ball and stop the clock, but instead threw a touchdown pass to Mark Ingram to put "The Spike Play" into football lore forever.

In what was to become a microcosm of many seasons in Miami for Dan Marino, the Hall of Fame QB threw for 521 yards -- 33 shy of Norm Van Brocklin's single-game record -- in a loss.

Dan Marino and Ken O'Brien combined to set an NFL record for most combined passing yards with 884. The Jets finally won in overtime on an O'Brien-to-Wesley Walls touchdown pass.

Mark "Super" Duper caught the game-winning touchdown pass with less than a minute to play in this Monday Night thriller.

In the only playoff meeting between these rivals, in an AFC Championship no less, the Dolphins took advantage of a soaked Orange Bowl field to send Richard Todd's Jets packing. A.J. Duhe sealed the victory with a muddy interception return for a touchdown

The Jets nearly ruined the Dolphins' perfect season but Miami's Mercury Morris scored with less than 2 minutes remaining to remain unbeaten

That game that Dupe caught that touchdown pass was not a Monday night game. It was a late game on a Sunday and it saved our season. It's one of my favorite Dolphin memories of all time. I would give up a LOT to get a copy of that game.
