Sieler wants to stay

The Miami Dolphins remain winless on the season — sitting at 0-5 after a much needed bye week this past Sunday. As the team continues to try and get better, the vultures have already begun circling. According to various reports, teams have been ringing general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan to check on the availability of certain players in regards to potential trades.
Dolphins veteran defensive tackle, Zach Sieler, is one such player.
On Monday, Sieler met with the South Florida media, and the defensive lineman was asked about the possibility of being traded away from the Miami Dolphins as the trade deadline approaches.
“I know people say rumors or talk, or whatever, this time of year, but you know, I’m here focused playing games here to win for the Dolphins, man. I think we’re doing a great thing and I’m excited for this next week coming up — coming off the bye ready to roll.”
Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post then asked Sieler directly if he would be open to being dealt to a contender this season.
“I love it here. I’ve been here for how long? I want to win here as a Dolphin. I think [head coach Jeff] Hafley and [general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan] Sully did an amazing job here. I’m excited to see this team is growing and [to see] where we’re going — let’s get some wins.”
At 31-years of age, no one would blame Sullivan if he did decide to unload Sieler for some extra draft capital. However, according to Sieler, it seems he wants to remain a member of the Dolphins for the foreseeable future. The National Football League’s trade deadline is three weeks and a day from today — on Tuesday, November 10th. We will see if Miami’s longtime defensive stalwart continues to wear aqua and orange past that consequential day.
Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.
I understand what Sullivan is doing and if he were to trade Sieler it would break my heart but, Miami does need to keep solid veterans around to mentor the younger players. Sieler is one of those who brings that needed leadership to the younger defensive players.

“The person you will spend the most time with in your life is yourself, so you better make sure you’re someone interesting”
We all like Sieler. He's been a very good player for us and seems like a great guy in the locker room. And we don't need to trade him for financial reasons, as the team has a massive amount of cap space. So the only real reason to trade him away would be that the offer is good good that our front office can't say no. What does that mean? I'm certainly not trading him for a 5th round pick. Would I do it for a 2nd rounder, though? Absolutely. The question is about what happens in the middle of those two.
I would be surprised if we traded him. The focus on the veterans we kept was on good locker room/high leadership guys. The Waddle trade showed me the current hierarchy valued these traits for veterans over on field production.
Having said that any player is tradeable if the offer is good enough (ref: Tunsil, Laremy)
With his contract and production lately ill take a 5th rounder.
