For at least a day .
Thats the least we can do for a player who didn't have the physical measurables but whose heart and work ethic was immeasurable .
The Ring of Honor is waiting for him .

Come on home Zach, and someone give him a linebackers coaching job. Just ask Peyton Manning, Zach knows a thing or two about studying the game.

We should Sign Zach to retire as a phin and then hire him as a LB coach. His ability to read offenses and study film should be able to translate into teaching young LBs what to look for in reading offenses. Zach wasn't good because of his physical ability. Zach was amazing because of the work he put into studying for each game. that work ethic should translate into being a coach IMHO.

Do it right, and let 54 get his moment in the sun.

One of the all time best guys and Dolphin player ever.
He deserves to have his nuber retired IMO. His heart for this team is un-matchable.
Number 54, What a man Zach is!!Dolfan330 and MonstBlitz like this. -

He may or may not make it to the Hall, but there is no doubt in my mind the guy needs to be signed so he can retire as a Miami Dolphin. After that is done he needs to be put in the Ring of Honor. Pretty simple to me, if Zach doesn't deserve that I don't know how many of those other greats already up there do.
I agree that if he wants to, he would make an excellent football coach and should be given the opportunity somewhere. Preferably here.CrunchTime and dolphindebby like this. -
The man played his heart out through the some of the lowest seasons in Dolphins history. At the same time he remained one of the classiest guys in the league. Denying him this chance would be a slap to face to the guy who gave his best years to us.
He'll always be a Dolphin to me.CrunchTime and dolphindebby like this. -
Imagine, if you will, Ross saying no. Then, imagine him circling all his celeb owners trying to protect him from THOUSANDS of PHANS looking to tar and feather him. LOLdolphindebby likes this. -
I couldnt agree more. If this organization doesnt sign zach for a day so he can retire a phin, something is seriously wrong. That guy gave his heart and soul and body every single day for this organization.

It will happen, #54 being retired to follow. There is a reason there is not a player with #54.

Do it, although I am concerned about his mental well being:
