And not really feeling this move not only did he get benched halfway through the season he was also the most penalized offense of lineman in the league I’m not sure that they’re going to be able to coach that out of him and $14 million for two years I think I would’ve looked around more but maybe they see some thing I don’t the Cowboy fans seem to be happy for him to leave

Serviceable starting guard at an average price. Im okay with this signing and i wont read too much into what Cowboys fans think, werent they suppose to win every super bowl the last 25 years?

If he doesn’t work out at least he’s a good depth signing just worried about his holding penalties hopefully they can coach that out of him he still young enough

And if it doesn’t work out, two-year deal isn’t disastrous, but on the plus side, at 24, he is yet to reach his prime and if he can eliminate the penalties, he could turn out to be a fantastic acquisition.
I'm sure McD and his staff know what they are looking for in recruits.Last edited: Mar 15, 2022Pennington's Limp Arm and dolphin25 like this. -
I think you guys are under selling Williams. His one flaw are his holding penalties and that needs to get under control. He is a perfect fit for a zone blocking scheme and he is a mean and nasty type which is exactly the kind of guy I want ono the oline. We haven't a guy with his temperment since Incognito. He isn't as out of control as Ritchie but he aint gonna take crap, he is gonna dish it out.
I really like this guy.Dorfdad, Phil Hutchings, dolphin25 and 1 other person like this. -

32 teams with, let’s say 3.5 guards each. That’s 112, which means Connor is in the best 10%.
Quite a bit better than average.Tin Indian likes this. -

And let’s not kid ourselves… Dak has always been known to hold on to the ball for faaaar too long!
Tua gets the ball out quick.
In 2020 when Dak was injured, Williams only had 4 holding penalties.
Not too familiar with Williams, but his grades are encouraging. Also Experienced, but still a young player.Phil Hutchings and Tin Indian like this. -
As I stated earlier, I know nothing about him, because I don’t really follow any of the other teams, but he must have some qualities that led Mike to think his arrival will benefit and improve our OLine. -

Don't know anything about him but I really like what I see in those clips against Donald. I especially like him if he's the 11th ranked G and has a mean streak on top of it.
I think the O-line just got better. 'Course it couldn't get much worse, so there's that. -
I like PFF but definitely have some flaws.Last edited: Mar 15, 2022Phil Hutchings likes this. -
Some film on Connor vs. Patriots:
And another on him vs the Rams:

If everyone sets their expectation where it should be, hes not an all pro guard, but yet hes better than what we had last year at the same position.. then you shouldnt be annoyed by this signing. We have a lot of holes to fill on the offensive line and making one big signing for 90-100 million on a single player doesnt fix the problem.. hell it may create a problem for other positions.

Can confirm that Cowboys fans are happy about this trade. My brother-in-law described him as a big-play / drive killer (penalties).

And honestly, I’ve we sign Armstead and finally have a legit LT, it solves a lot of problems on our OL. Move Davis back to LG to compete with Williams and Jackson. Move Liam to RT. Then we just need to address C in the draft. -
