May 3rd me and my buddy are going skydiving. Its something i wanted to do for a while and i'm going to finally do it! Has anyone else here gone skydiving? I am getting a video of it and will post it here!
My Brother went skydiving once. Spiral fracture of the femur and 3 months in traction. For some reason he never went again. Although he did say it was one of the best things he's ever done up to the landing.
real encouraging stuff there personally, I can't justify jumping out of a plane. I have friends who have skydived and ended up just fine, however.
My cousin went skydiving out in Hawaii.....she chickened out before her jump but the 15 year veteran instructor instructor rolled her out of the plane and they went anyway...........he died a week later in a jump with another girl.
Hell no. No way I'm jumping out of a plane or even getting into a plane with the intent to jump out of a perfectly good plane. (wow that's a lot of "plane's" in one sentence)
I went in the summer of 2004 Fricking awesome I'am looking forward to going again real soon, I also rode the Skycoaster over the Royal Gorge last summer, again, another fricking awesome thing to do.
I've been a few time, it's a blast. I did see a couple guys hit a tree though, you'll want to avoid doing that. Looked a bit painful. I was in a military jump club, we used helicopters though. Does that count as jumping out of a perfectly good airplane?
Never have, but I love adrenaline! Have a good time and be safe (that means don't drink too much prior to the jump).
I've done it. It was about 14 years ago near lake Okeechobee (sp?). It was pretty cool. I did a solo jump. I didn't go tandem which I believe is how most every state requires it now (for first jumps). I was surprised by how hard the landing was. I had practiced that tuck and roll thing but I really expected to just land and run it out like I'd seen others do. When I hit though it was hard. I buckled and rolled right away. It felt about like the equivalent of jumping off the top of a 2 story building. Of course there may have been many parachute improvements so it's probably not as hard now. There other thing I hadn't thought about was how loud it was. Those vinyl suits whipping in the wind make a lot of noise.
just got back and it was amazing! the coolest thing i ever did!!! i want to do it again so bad! it will take a while for them to send me the video of it!
