i have bashed ginn relentlessly......but i want nothing but good things for him, he does good....then it benefits the miami dolphins.....then we all win.

This is why you need to hold your players accountable.
You bench their butts and put them through fire, so they can stand up, WAKE UP, and win their job back.
Good job Ginn. But you still had 0 receptions though.opfinistic and jetssuck like this. -
At the end of the day, he's a human being. I think we forget that sometimes and treat them like objects.opfinistic, FinsAreLife, Bumrush and 29 others like this. -

but using one of our players negatives, to try to somehow make it a positive for another player is kind've ridiculous....
just as ridiculous as saying ginn lost games all on his own. -

As fans, we can sometimes be a little too down on a player. We never realize that these guys have to deal with criticism on a level no one here could even imagine. I mean, being called out on ESPN on national TV because you made a mistake in your craft? It's pretty harsh stuff.
I'm glad he had a great day. It can only help Miami (who is having issues moving the ball) if he gives them good field position. Having to go 60 yards instead of 80 could pay dividends.mullingan, adamprez2003, Themole and 1 other person like this. -
By his comments it seems like he took something away from the past week. Those returns were great.
-
Our lack of running game and a lackluster performance by the OL, pretty much made throwing down field a pipe dream.
Hartline did get behind the DB's on the first series and was over thrown.....why is this important? Because it's something his detractors said he couldn't do, that ONLY Ginn could do.Bpk and Frumundah Finnatic like this. -

Our OLINE was terrible this game. Henne had no time to throw, got sacked 6 times, and overthrew Hartline when he was open

Is it possible that the Jets were able to stop the run easier because Ginn wasn't on the field? Perhaps Ginn contributes without making catches.

Im not the guy who blames a win or a loss on one guy.
Ginn got ALOT of that after the Colts game, and even after the Saints game.
If you go out and flat out say that he lost those games, you gotta be fair and say that he flat out WON this one, no?gafinfan, GISH, GridIronKing34 and 1 other person like this. -

I think the Henne overthrow is a result of working with Ginn and not with Hartline as well ... in time those will become completions. Henne probably had his worst game as a starter today.GridIronKing34 likes this. -
But in the meantime, I'd rather him take the sack then throw a dumb pick. But it will mean inflated sack numbers, as we're seeing. -
NOTE: Not saying Ginn will be Steve Smith-esque. -
I have seen it before but it amazes me how fast he is in the open field. It crazy to see him walk away from an NFL DB that had an angle. Hopefully he get more confidence and starts running routes better and becomes a better wr, man that would do wonders for this team.
Way to go Ted -
And as Boomer pointed out in his Lowering the Boom thread, Ginn would have been under that ball to Hartline rather than a few yards behind it, that's what separates Ginn from the rest of our WR's.gafinfan likes this. -

Ginn is better than all the other guys, Bess has fumbled more often Ginn doesn't fumble and please Hartline, give me a break.
Bess the last 3 games has been a real problem, against the saints the catch they couldn't replay was not a catch. -
Sorry bro but it's just speculating........not to mention you're reaching here by saying it was Hartline's lack of speed that caused the over throw. Especially when that "lack of speed" got him behind the Jets D to begin with. -
Btw, Ginn and Smith comparison through their first seven weeks of their third seasons.
Smith - 29 receptions, 385 yards, 3 touchdowns.
Ginn - 18 receptions, 211 yards, 1 touchdown.Bpk likes this. -

And don't hate on the messenger, I'm just goin by what McDuffie said :shifty: -
Steve Smith uses past criticisms to his advantage. When coaches told him he couldn't be more than a punt returner, he said "hell no" and now look at him. When a team rolls coverage over in his direction, he beats the jam, catches the ball and makes you pay with yards after contact/catch. He's basically saying that you can't stop him. When Jake Delhomme throws interceptions like a flower girl throws flowers at a wedding, Smith gets pissed off and then when he gets the opportunity to make a play, he makes it. Did you see the sideline sitting between Delhomme and Smith a couple weeks back? Delhomme commits a turnover and goes to the bench. Smith sits down next to him and goes "you're a great guy, I love you man but I don't like you as my quarterback". Delhomme just kind of sits there and stares at him and goes "ok".
