I remember the last offseason we were all up in arms and worried about losing Lamar Miller to the texas via free-agency. I was super excited about Jay Ajayi going into the season than he just didn't perform well in the offseason and left much to be desired the first few weeks of the year.
Since then he has shown some real promise as the long-term solution at running back. As fans we sometimes (most of the time overreact) God knows I have done this and need to just stay away from the gameday threads once the games start :)
Anyway, I thought I would toss out a few stats from 2016 below mind you Texas has a better Offensive line (more consistent) than the Dolphins.
Lamar Miller: 225 Carries 903 Yards 4.0 YPC AVG 3 TD CAP HIT 2016: $5,500,000
28 Receptions 147 Yards 5.3 AVG 1 TD
Jay Ajayi: 173 Carries 908 YDS 5.2 YPC AVG 7 TDS CAP HIT 2016: $580,203
22 Receptions 113 Yards 5.1 AVG 0 TD
Man did the Dolphins dodge a big financial bullet with letting Miller go! Ajayi has better stats less carries and a huge saving over Miller in 2016.
Congrats to the organization on this move. Sure the season's not over but 13 games in it's an easy win for Ajayi in my eyes.

Ajayi has been a good replacement for Miller. I feel bad for Miller though, That Texans offense has been absolutely atrocious, no one fears their passing game.

Ajayi has been great, and I'm glad to have him on our side. I hope that he continues to improve and play well, and I like how hard he plays. That being said, I like Miller more, and I still think that it was a foolish choice to let a young, talented player like him walk. Its partly a matter of personal preference / style, and Miller fits really well with what I want a RB to be.

Ajayi has been great and I'm happy to have him, but I would have loved to see Lamar get the chance to play for Gase and have the opportunity to have the few game in a row that Ajayi had behind the unicorn line.
