The popular line of thought is that Parcells is going to shop the #1 pick...if so, who is our best trading partner?
The most logical choice would be the Cowboys, as they're the only team in the first round with two picks. This garners a litle more credence if the Cowboys get beat by the Patriots in the Super Bowl...I think the Boys might be willing to sell the farm to get a home run threat like McFadden in their backfield...with Jerry Jones basically calling the shots at this point, he might go a little nuts and do just that.
However, using the NFL value chart for picks....
#1 overall = 3000 units of value
#22 and #30 overall (assuming Dallas makes the Super Bowl) = 1420 units of value.
What would make it worth our while?
The Cowboys' two #1 picks, #2, #4, and next year's #1? This basically works out to 1750 units of value plus the value of whatever their next year's #1 is worth.
This would give us the advantage of having back-to-back picks at the end of the first/beginning of the second round, two of three picks at the end of the second/ beginning of the third, and make up for our lost Trent Green pick.
Plus, we would have two picks in the first round of the 2009 draft.
