So Many Young Players Stepping Up http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/so-many-young-players-stepping good read
Very good read, and especially the two rook CB's are making an early impact. Along with Langford and Merling on D and D-Thomas and Jake Long on Offense, we are starting to look young, deep and improving.
It's great to see everything coming together, and mostly from the draft more or less. We shore up the Safety spot, Inside LB, and pick up a strong #1 receiver to make plays and draw attention from the other guys and we're going to be scary in 2-3 years. Heck we're good now, but we have our holes at those positions. If we plug them up we'll be on everyone's Superbowl radar for quite a few years to come.
we had one of the youngest (3rd I think) coming into the season. I don't know where we sit now that Chad Pennington has been replaced with Thigpen. I agree with all your areas of need and would add a playmaker at TE to that list. A stud TE and a #1 WR would make this a scary offense considering the way we run the ball (as long as Henne works out). The other thing to consuider is that a lot of our depth is very young as well. Look at the OL were we have Murphy, Garner and Gardner. TE we have Haynos and Nalbone. We don't hace a receiver on the roster with more then 4 years in the NFL (CC), Ginn is in his 3rd year the rest are 2 or less. At QB we have a bunch of young guys. On defense we have Merling, Soliai, Wake, Davis, Clemons and Dotson listed as backups.
Good read. Its amazing what they have done in two drafts considering all the bad drafts and wasted picks from years past. As a fan it makes you look forward to the draft with excitement. In the past we would dread more wasted picks and selections that didn't make any sense. If we weren't wasting picks we were trading them for players that were duds, over the hill and contributed nothing to the team.
