some kind of program that monitors what i do on the computer. i basically kept lying to her and she kept finding more stuff lol please try and save the bashing. im looking for some technical help here. i was at first pretty infuriated but im not going to choose porn over her...well at least porn that she knows about lol i tried finding some evidence of it, but its cleverly hidden. i set my folder options to view hidden files, but without knowing what it is, i dont think i have any way of finding it. i wanted to find out what it and how it operates, but no luck is there a way to circumvent it? right now i am typing on google chrome's incognito mode. is that helping at all? would a program like that still log what i am doing in this mode? i was considering possibly installing another OS on my PC, like linux that i can switch to. would that do the trick?
WTF. Just anyone could actually do that? Isn't there some kind of privacy right that comes into play there? Now I'm paranoid that someone is watching every move I make on the computer.
WTF Maynard? Have you talked to her about this? I'd be livid and that kind of lack of trust is a bad sign overall for the relationship. Thank god my wife knows very little about the computer, but you don't have that luxury obviously. Can you see this program running with MSConfig? It may be under 'processes'. And tell her to never forget that it doesn't matter where you work up your appetite as long as you eat at home.
She probably put up a History tracker on the comp so no matter what you do it keeps logs. Just uninstall the software-view porn-Install it back. Boom goes the Dynamite. The incognito mode of google chrome does not save History, Cookies, ect. but not sure if the program would save. A good way to test this is to go to a safe site like Break under incognito mode and check.
I was just about to ask that ... lol. By the way, dunno if it works for this ... but I use Safari as my internet browser de jour. Private Browsing is freakin' awesome.
thats a little pricey lol. plus i would then have to password protect it and then you know what would happen. or hide it eternally, which is impossible
googles incognito works the same way, but i dont know if the program would still detect it or if it logs my keystrokes
I don't know. My wife doesn't care one way or the other what I do on the computer, as long as I close the door she's completely cool. Are you an admin on the computer?
why dont you seperate user accounts on the computer? i do that with all my computers i share with my wife, not really for the smut factor, but i dont want her b.s. cluttered on my desktop, and vice-versa. but thats really not cool. i'd be pissed if she did something invasive like that.

well thats part of the problem. i stopped eating at home a little bit. i wasnt eating anywhere else, just got tired of the same routine. dont get me wrong. the porn is in no way destructive or anything. just usual free time stuff. im not a deviant i cant find anything. not sure if i am look correctly though

if i cant find it, i cant uninstall it. she said it requires a key to be entered to access it. i dont even know how she brings it up maybe its not even installed exactly. maybe its internet based i have been noticing a funny thing with my PC. it randomly wakes up out of the screensaver for no reason. im thinking its the program or scanner activating

I'd be in divorce court if the wife ever figured out how I do things. 1) I use Firefox, she still thinks IE is the only way to surf the net. 2) I use crapcleaner to clean up any temp files and whatnot. 3) I have a 500 GB external drive that has all my porn, I mean personal stuff on it, her stuff is on the main HD and I keep that drive turned off unless I need to access anything from it. Plus my pron (great code word btw) is hidden in a music folder entitled Gangsta Rap, which my wife wouldn't listen to, even with a gun to her head.

Seriously either she is extremely pararanoid/crazy or you have give her a reason, so I would at least discuss it. Otherwise you should find the name of the program and uninstall it or stop it as others have suggested. Also if it somehow stores key strokes it doesn't matter whether you are set to private in your browser, it will show every thing you type. Not sure if its that advanced though. Also seek porn counseling.
