http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-retire-but-tony-sparano-would-like-him-back/ Loyal to a fault. If this is true, I think it's time for Tony to go.
I don't put too much into what Sparano says publicly about coaches. Read his final words about the coach that he fired. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/9796/sparano-talks-about-coordinator-switch
Tony might as well stick his head in a toilet and give his own self a swirlie. I don't want Sparano back if he's dumb enough to go down with the ship. Dude should be separating himself from Henning at all costs if he knows what's good for him. I'd be telling everyone that I can't wait to get in a new OC to help spice things up get this offense moving.
I think he's just saying that so it sounds good in public, Henning probably will "retire" at the end of the year, but really what it is probably is a firing by Sparano and company with dignity for Henning for all of his years.
You do that, and then try to get anyone else to join your staff. You throw this man under the bus, and others, in that profession will look at you like an old used tampon. Personally I hope he is saying the right things privately but, publicly I understand why he is saying the things he is.
I wonder if what Sparano is saying to the public is actually what he's saying to people behind the scenes.
I couldn't care less what Sparano thinks of Henning....... Sparano is the bigger problem here. Dan Henning could fart and that fart would know more about x's and o's than the little fist pumper will ever know.
It is not Tony's style to publicly criticize his players or staff so I wouldn't read too much into those comments.... having said that, Tony NEEDS to be fired.
While it's probably a good idea not to throw your own coaches under the bus, I still would prefer he say something that makes the fan base somewhat comfortable that he isn't completely and utterly clueless. Or just don't say anything at all?
Well he didn't exactly come across as arbitrary either. He's seemed pretty adamant about wanting Henning back which is a big boo-boo IMO.
I hope this isn't true, I can barely watch the fins offense now there is no way I can deal with another year of it.
He seems pretty adamant about Chad Henne being his quarterback of the future too. Yet half the forum would say that's a bad idea too.
Why? What's wrong with the guy having some balls and choosing to stand up for his team RATHER than a geezer OC who's pulling the team down. I'd be more hesitant about coming here and playing/coaching for a spineless coach who's too afraid or too ignorant to stand up against mediocrity. Henning sucks, his time has passed, and I'm sure the rest of the league knows it. If Sparano doesn't blame Henning, then it virtually means he's assuming the blame himself.
Yes but it keeps the local airwaves electric with a full bank of callers. Or if you want print media - it keeps the clicks coming.
Well just take the previous post of YOURS and insert the name "Henne" where you have "geezer" or "Henning". Sooner or later you might just get it.
It had EVERYTHING to do with your post. You need the other name to see why Tony Sparano would give anyone any amount of respect in the public.
So he'll throw his young QB under the bus but Henning has done a tremendous job? Yeah, he's tapping that.
You're missing a post. Are you still typing about this just to try and prove me wrong? The effort is flattering, but you could find some better ways to occupy your time. Just sayin.
C'mon now, Sparano has to back his coaches and players to the media, not like some team exec's we know (cough....Bill Parcells...cough). You can't blame him for backing a guy that still has at least 2 more games to work. We'll see what happens on Jan 3rd, but I can't dis Sparano for sticking up for his guys...if he calls out a player, everyone gets all worked up about it...same thing goes for staff members... Henning most likely will be the fall guy for this offense whether or not he's the actual culprit. It's not Henne, Marshall or Brown...Henning will go...unless the entire staff goes...
Take Sparano's words with the smallest grain of salt. What do you expect him to say? I'm sure what he's saying about Henning now is what he would have said about Pasqualoni this time last year. Remember Jeff Ireland singing Gibril Wilson's praises just days before he was kicked to the curb?
