I'm all in favor of stop talking about the stadium and uni being changed, and do something about it, cause the longer you wait, the more superbowls you lose, the more money your losing..I wish this owner would understand that if he could get a new stadium, build it correctly,it would be best for everyone involved.
All in favor of a uniform change..mos def
Nice to hear Bush talk about our young Qb.

Unless someone can prove that new uniforms will improve the won loss record, to even discuss them is a distraction and waste of time, IMO.
Screw changing the uniforms and instead upgrade the talent in the current uniforms.GARDENHEAD, Sippi, unifiedtheory and 12 others like this. -

I hope Ross doesn't butcher this uniform change.
Just tweak it, no radical changes please.GARDENHEAD likes this. -

Let Steve Ross spend the better part of his time worrying about uniforms, fight songs and stadium stuff. That's actually what he should be concerning himself with. Would you rather Steve Ross spend all his time talking about the need to find better talent, as if that's the problem he focuses a lot of his attention on? Is that really the road people want to walk down?
I just wish he had a better General Manager to focus on the talent issues than Jeff Ireland.
The last time I heard Mike Dee speak, he talked pretty candidly about their plans to move the stadium seating closer to the field. The thing to remember about that is the reason they couldn't do it until now was the Marlins. With the Marlins gone, now they can do that...and they're working on it. So I think this macho "put up or shut up" attitude is a little unfair in that regard. They've obviously wanted to do that for a while and they're getting on it in a timely fashion now that the Marlins are out.
The canopy idea is a new one. They had hoped to increase the fan experience by moving home kickoff times to 4pm instead of 1pm. Obviously, with the team losing, there was a fan backlash because the 1pm home kickoff times and the heat/humidity that go with are pretty ingrained down here as one of the reasons we were always so unstoppable at home in September and October. Miami fans haven't felt their team was "unstoppable" in any circumstance in years, so whether it's scapegoating or accurate assessment, the fans want the home advantage back. Yet they probably also don't really want to sit in the 1pm sun. That means Ross is going to have to open his pockets and try and get some shading above the seats. Miami fans should be pretty grateful for that but instead I sense more sense of entitlement.305, Aquafin and GridIronKing34 like this. -
Tell me why you would be so against a change that might look cool??Aquafin likes this. -

I think classic franchises should stick with their classic appearance. We don't see teams like Green Bay, Chicago, Oakland or Pittsburgh making any sweeping changes. When teams do that it is generally just a way to get fans to buy more merchandise. The only thing I'd do if it were up to me, is go back permanently to the 1970s uniforms. Always white pants, and rotate between the white and aqua jerseys depending on home or away, etc.
Another example is in baseball. The Yankees and Dodgers have not changed much of anything for decades. When the teams were in slumps, thankfully their owners didn't consider some uniform changes as necessary to fire up the fan base.
The best way to do that in their case or our case currently, was/is win more games. Improve the talent rather than mess around with the best uniforms in the league.Pagan likes this. -
I get made fun of all the time for being a fan of a team with fruity uniform. That is from SEAHAWK FANS! They have lime green for god sakes.
Plus what does intellect have to do with liking a Dolphin with a mini helmet on, jumping through a sun? -
-
Man, I wish they'd leave the uniforms alone, but if they're going to change something, it better be for next season. I'm not going to buy anything until the change happens and I'm sure others will do the same.

My main concern is the stadium..something has to be done and fast..If you were to poll everyone in football where you would want to play their Super Bowl, I bet the majority would want Miami, it's a shame that we are not expediting the process. -
If the uniforms look anything like the Miami Marlins I'm going to be pissed

Here we go....
We need scary colors and a mascot that makes players knees quiver.
That would change everything.
Change our mascot to a Shark with a nuclear warhead attatched to him along with Black and Silver colors and everything will be better.
We will then look scary and not "fruity" (P-L-E-A-S-E.... fruity?)

That's so out of left field for a Dolphin that is a mascot for a football team. :huh:Ozzy likes this. -

Take the helmet off the Dolphin. Get rid of shadowed numbers. Remove all navy from the color scheme.
Done. -
The canopy idea isn't a new one. It has been the plan for over 2 years.

As for the uni's.... the change I've been begging for is minor. Just the stripes on the pants and jersey, like what arizona, minnesota, atlanta have done, but to a lesser extent. Tired of the disco era stripes and bland jerseys. Two tone and solid stripes are simple ways to modernize the look without alienating the fan base. Throwback the logo.
-
As aqua said the no helmet looks too vacant. In my opinion if you stuck a football underneath the dolphin it would draw your attention away from the head. Personally i was scrolling down reading this thread and stopped between one of dj's and psg's post and wondered how it would look if you could take a football like the one in dj's sig and place it under the dolphin.
-
Lol. It's not about the size if the opponent... but the ferocity.
-
Just don't touch the logo or classic colors...but I hope they get rid of the navy and make them look more like the original jerseys, but with the logo above the stripes or something.
Logo is mostly fine. Don't want some complete overhaul of a generic "M" with a fin on it or something. (You know that's what would happen) -
It needs to be changed to a Dolphin holding a football thats on fire, jumping through a hoop of fire.
Basically the Miami Heat logo but with a Dolphin.
