terrible news, NT is a total priority in next year's acquisitions
we are going to miss this guy big time, suddenly the road got longer
hope Grove skirts serious injury, that would be the second shoe to drop
you win or lose in the trenches & they are our center pieces

I was afraid of that. Looked pretty serious when it happened. Big shoes to fill. Hopefully Soliai will be back.

got to rotate to be effective @ NT,
too big a job for one man in the 3/4
my guess is a healthy Solai will rotate
    w/ Starks and/or McDaniel
@ NT until the end of the season
    this is not good news

IF Soliai is healthy and can go ... we will be fine ... if he is not 100% - it will be a huge problem, i don't care how much effort Starks gives ...

Hopefully Soliai will be better by the Patriots game. We should be okay next week against the Bills but after that it gets harder.

Wow, just remember when all is said and done, given the extent of the injuries we have had, the fact we will finish where we will... Makes it all the more
impressive. Coach deserves a ton of credit when this season is all said and done

You can say that again. We've lost our starting QB, RB, NT, and CB so far, not to mention our best offensive utility man in Pat Cobbs, and losing our projected starting OLB (Roth) for the first half of the season. That fact that we still have a shot at the playoffs says a lot about our organization.

it has been brutal & will get worse as the season closes out
just hope Grove is not too badly injured
in the end, as the offensive line goes, so goes our season

So this is our punishment for having pretty much a completely healthy 2008 season.

Injuries all over the place. :(

Soliai was getting it handed to him in a pink basket PRE-injury during the Patriots game. It was because his lack of effectiveness that the injury happened. I remember the play well, because (once again) he got blown up by a single guy and the play went for good positive yardage. He was hammered into the ground with his back bent because he played too high. After that play, he came up limping.

I'm sorry, but when Soliai can get handled one-on-one, it does not show his ability to handle the NT position. He has a quick first step, which can catch his man off-guard at times, but he does not, IMO, have what it takes to be a true nose in a 3-4. He does not demand double-teams like Ferguson. It's a shame. Ferguson is going to be missed.....

We also haven't had David Martin at all either. I know it's an under-the-radar loss, but his ability to stretch the seams last year and cause matchup problems when lined up out wide has been a detriment to the passing game. Maybe not as much with Henne in now, but it was definitely noticeable when Pennington was in - he'd still be useful now even.
