It had gotten bad for him. I mean Meyer owns him, Spurrier owns him, with all the great coaches in the SEC he was just struggling to get wins. That being said, I too wanted him around for a while.
The past few years, I just think it's become too competitive in the SEC for Fulmer, both in recruiting and coacing. He hasn't been able to keep up. With all that being said, I wonder who they go after for HC? Lane Kiffin has been mentioned by ESPN, Cutcliffe (sp) I would think is on their radar as well. Who esle? Malzahn at Tulsa? One of Meyer's or Nicky Satan's staff?? I honestly have no clue and I'm just throwing names out there, but I wouldn't be suprised if it ends up being somebody who's coached/is currently coaching in the SEC.
bummer... maybe they can buy nicky satan from bama.... I loved beating up on Tenn every year, now they will try and find a real coach.
The coaches from Boise State, TCU, and even Bill Cowher are being thrown around right now here in the Knoxville area. However these are rumors that have little credibility right now but I thought I would pass them along.
Oh Shucks .He will catch on somewhere else .He is not a bad coach but it looks like the game has passed him by .
The jon Gruden rumers are from a few years ago when he might have been fired by Tampa. That is no longer the case
With the ACC in the condition it's in, Davis has a chance to build NC into a pretty good program. I wouldnt be quick to jump to the SEC if I were him. Tennessee is a really good school though, will be interesting to see what he does.
How do you know he won't change his mind? NIck Saban told us that he wasn't going to Alabama and look where he is now.
Becuase he already has more talent there than at Tenn. Besides he is building a powerhouse there and already said he did not want to leave. Not everyone lies
