Tony's back at work! http://wqam.com/index.php?page=347&sid=soj4e88qv3biueatqt4lgi52l0 (Choose Tony Sparano interview) Tony Discusses: - the ESPN article about him: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=mosley_matt&id=3476398 - His meticulous planning for Training Camp (down to the meals) - Getting Draft Picks Signed before Camp - Turning the bottom of the roster - Ronnie and Ricky's Effect on our QB - Managing the Team's Motivation and Mentality (my question) - Winning In November and December - Addressing the Perception that Parcells Runs Team (my question) - Favre? No big revelations, but I'm getting a better idea of the type of coach and person Sparano is. I think he has the ability to play both good cop and bad cop at the right times, from the sound of it. I also like that he only deals with things that are on his plate *now* and doesn't worry about speculative stuff (like Favre). He obviously works very hard and spends his time on the things that he can affect today instead of worrying about extraneous stuff. Sounds like a bit of an overplanner, overworker, though, so I hope he doesn't start to wear out physically and mentally by mid-season. I love his approach, as long as he doesn't burn himself out.
I think you described his personality great and I completely agree with you. I hate to say this but when it comes to speculations, he seems to have a Bill Bellicheck attitude toward it. Bill always says "we will discuss it when it comes up or when he is on the team", or along those lines.
Didnt really want to make a whole new thread for it so.....Bill Parcells is going to be on Bryant Gumballs HBO sports show, Tues. night at 10:00 PM.
I just checked it and you're right... it's not on the list anymore. I wonder why??? He didn't say anything convrotversial or anything. If you have ITunes you can dowload it as a podcast, actually. I am subscribed to the Dolphins Tonight podcast. B.
