ATVZ400New MemberOPThis has created plenty of chances this off-season and beyond for a couple of young players with potential, linebacker Charlie Anderson and converted defensive end Quentin Moses.
Sparano called Anderson and Moses “two guys we were excited to get a look at during the spring and are excited to get a look at as we get on with this thing.”

That's the red flag from the guy who played under the black flag. Arizona cut him loose, too. That's quite a fall for a former 3rd round pick who was considered a mid to high first round pick as a junior. That being said, I'm optimistic regarding his future with the Fins.

Well..sort of...Q Moses got into problems with the Raiders simply because Al Davis did not like him personally, and he was let go in Arizona due to the need to sign a Back Up Qb more then they needed to keep "Q".
One problem is that Moses has not play Linebacker, and in Oakland, he wanted to be a pass rushing DE...period...when I looked for some interviews, Q mentioned that people at both places tried to convert him to LB and he wasn't interested in making the switch.
Of course, in Miami, after being cut twice, he will try to play LB, it is sink or swim time for "Q".
gunn34New MemberThe thing with "Q" is how bad does he want to be in the NFL? He played really good in college, but has yet to understand how the NFL works. If he want's to be an NFL star, he needs to buckle down and do what is asked of him.
Either way the Phins will get someone to play the position who has earned it.
I watched Q play last year. And he looked pretty decent for a rookie IMO. He didnt record a lot of sacks, but, he did a solid job at pressuring the QB.

If "Q" beats Charlie Anderson out, then Anderson must not be a very good player at all, he does have some experience playing LB, Q has none and the SSLB has to cover Te's at times and that takes play recognition skills.
C. Anderson probably should be viewed as the Starter just based on experience alone..IMO.

I'm of the opinion that Quentin Moses' problems in Oakland and Airzona were a result of poor conditioning. He got ragged on about that in the combine, and he looked pretty soft for a guy his height/weight when he was here last year.

You know, I'm more apt to believe this, than a personality conflict or a bad attitude that got a highly skilled player cut twice before his second season.
It was probably all three but,, he must have gotten a handle on it or he would have been jettisoned along with the rest of the CaMuel players that were unwanted.
Still find it odd that he's being mentioned as a possible starter....reminds of that one crazy guy we signed from Minny a bunch of years ago....or Manny Wright...doesn't seem to wise to count on him.

JT would have been at the LB spot I believe. Wright is on the line which is probably why he wasn't mentioned in the article. I think it was strictly talking about replacing Jason.
