I am planning on attending Ole Miss after next Fall after I graduate from high school. I am very much into football and I hope to make a career out of it. I am interested in becoming a Sport's Agent or being involved in the front office's of teams. How could I go about doing this. I am very passionate about it. Thank, Trey

interning for a team would be the best bet....enless you can get hired right out of college. I believe current commisioner of the NFL Rodger Goddell started out as an intern.....now he runs the whole thing...good luck!!!

Yeah, interning is your best bet... it's tough to get into the NFL because it's really who you know. Good luck!

Well my soccer coach worked for Espn radio down and broadcasted many games down at Ole Miss and around the SEC so he is going to try to help me get into something down there. I mean, It's about the time i find out what I want to do with my life and I just can't see myself doing something I don't love. I just really hope it works out like I hope. I just love the game of football even though I sucked horribly lol

Well, interning is a good way, but i can honestly tell you from experience that interning is not always the best way. Getting to know people, who know people, and networking are the best ways to do it. I'm sure that the person in charge of your sports information dept. as well as the person in charge of the sports management program at ole miss, and other area colleges are the best people to get to know and get in good with. They usually have the contacts you'll need to get started.

In order to become a sports agent, its a good idea to have a background in entertainment and sports law. So, take some classes and see how you like it...its not an easy industry to get into and its very cut-throat.
