Is anyone taking this course and trying to get into football coaching? Can anyone shed some light on this? I really want to do this but I'm wondering if it's worth going into it? Do you learn a lot? Do they help you get a job? I've heard you do game analysis as well as sports fitness and coaching methods but I was wondering if anyone can confirm this? Whatever information someone may have, if you are willing, please share it.

    Thank you.

    Email them about it

Or set up a time to go talk to them about it.

The school is there to help answer any and all questions you have about their program.

I know you're looking for personal stories and things of that nature as well, but it couldn't hurt to ask the school too.

Best of luck I know it's something you really want to get into.

I haven't really heard about that MA, but I have heard about UCF's Sports Business Management Minor as well as the Rich DeVos Sports Business Master Program (which is was rated a Top 5 program in the nation by ESPN).

I took intro to Sports Business Management and was glad I did; I took the class because I really, really wanted to become a General Manager of an NFL team (I've had this dream since I was 13 years old). This course made me realize that my goal to be a General Manager was just a dream and probably would never come true. Basically, if you get your Degree and then apply and get accepted into the DeVos Sports Business Master Program you will have gone to school for 6 years. Once you graduate you will most likely get an internship with a NFL, NHL, NBA, etc team. As an intern your job will be to sell tickets, this is the part that really turned me off; I wouldn't want to go to school for 6 years only to go to an office and make cold calls to people and businesses trying to sell tickets in a competitive market. Your internship will last about 6 month to a year in which you might not get paid, you might only be supplied housing, or you could be paid minimum wage with incentives for selling tickets. At the end of your internship hopefully you are one of the few people the team decides to retain. If they keep you around you have your foot in the door but once again you will probably work a lot of hours and get about $19,000 a year. Typically when people work their way up this way they become a President of Operations or VP of something. There really isn't a way to jump from the business side which this puts you into, to the other side of the actual sport.

If your dream really is to become a coach or general manager or scout or anything like that I would recommend getting a degree in something that can be your fall back plan and then working as an assistant coach at a High School, work your way up to a Head Coach at a High School, then excel there and hopefully get a coaching position in college and eventually in the NFL if thats your ultimate goal.

Hopefully, this explains everything you want to know, but if you have anymore direct questions let me know.
