Well 'Nardo, more interesting to me is the preseason on offense set the tone for the regular season

Heh, how did the offense look in the 2010 preseason? In 09 we all were hyped for gm #3 vs the Bucs iirc and the offense fell flat on it's butt, in 08 we had a successful preseason and it worked out fairly well that yr.

Do you happen to recall "why" Jake Long was playing in preseason gm #4 last yr?

How CRAZY is the QB rating system?

    Henne...4 of 8, 77 yards, 1 TD, 2 int = 83.85 QB rating
    Moore...11 of 18, 123 yards, 2 TD, 1 int = 95.37 QB rating

    When adding the two together...
    15 or 26, 200 yards, 3 TD, 3 int = 81.09 QB rating

Hmm...logic would be the QB rating would fall somewhere in between 83.85 and 95.37 when adding their stats together.

Throw in Delvin's 0 for 2 and the QB rating drops all the way down to 72.62...CRAZY!

Pads you might need to add the Defense to this year's scenario...

How many plays they made against Atlanta's starters and backups...

5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, 6 passes defended, and 5 qb hits...

Looking at these numbers in comparison to other years, it was a better passing defensive game IMO...

Well it seemed like the Defense in the 09 preseason was great, but fell flat in the regular season?

And AdamC, that is one of the reasons why I'm contemptuous of QBR as a measure of anything,

    Completion percentage
    TD/Int ratio
    3rd down conversion efficiency
    running for first downs

That is how I look at whether or not a Qb is doing a good job.

Pads we have improved in certain areas of the defense by subtraction, and added what seemed to be more talent in those areas...

I expect the D will do fine, my theory is the offensive tone is set in the preseason under Sparano.

We got Matt Moore hitting guys 30 yds down field, I'm kind of psyched about the O, hearing Daboll is really aggressive, we added more playmaker types on ST and on D, and on O, I like the direction we are heading.

That is crazy. Moore stats standing alone have a better rating, but when combined with Henne's weaker stat line, the total becomes yet again weaker. I had to test it for myself, so know you are exactly correct.

But I found if you just double all Henne's numbers, his QBR stays the same, then double it again, to 16 of 32 for 308, 4 TDs and 8 ints, it stays the same. It appears to me that yards per attempt raise the rating as much as anything, along with TDs and a poor completion pct and high number of ints then won't hurt it too much.
