Stephen M. Ross’ No. 1 priority: A Lombardi Trophy

New Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has a meeting with Big Tuna Bill Parcells, Tuna Helper Jeff Ireland, and coach Tony Sparano scheduled for Friday. At this gathering Ross expects to ease any fears he plans significant changes from the way former owner Wayne Huizenga did business with his football people.

Ross said: "The three of us are sitting down and letting them know, 'Hey business as usual,' and any questions they might have, especially Jeff and Tony, to make them feel totally comfortable that business will continue the way it has and they're wanted and I have a lot of respect for what they've done."

Good to hear. So far Ross is saying all the right things.

Miamidolphins.com wouldn't let me copy his letter to the fans, but it was something along the lines of:

Committed to the city and fans of Miami.

Wants to bring the Lombardi trophy back home. (obviously)

Willing to do whatever it takes, like Wayne did, to make the dolphins winners. (nice to hear that)

Props to Ross, he seems like he's starting off on the right foot. Keep it up.

Way to **** on the 25th pick.

There's a guy who was taken way after the 25th pick, named Tom Brady, who certainly changed the landscape of his team. Brady was taken in the 6th round so I don't wanna hear that guy say we can't get anything at #25 OVERALL.

Armando wrote a good article on that meeting between the two...Saying what if Parcells "gets the whillies" from ross.....scares the hell out of me too. i hope that meeting goes above and beyond.

Sorry dj...just another "Captain Obvious" fluff piece from 'Mando...no substance...he doesn't tell you or I anything we don't already know, does he ?? This point has been the substance since the second that Mr. H started negotiating with Ross (or since the paragraph was added to Parcells contract, whichever began first). Due to the Tuna's uniquely qualified abilities, he's always been the guy to keep satisfied, not anyone else, even the owner...

I hope every owner want to win the superbowl trophy.

larry, i just comin from the perspective of bill just not really feelin our new owner, if that happens which is something thats a possibility it changes the dynamic on why he came here in the first place, idk, maybe iam just being paranoid.

I think your def being paranoid. I haven't seen anything that would suggest Parcells doesn't like Ross. As long as Ross minds his business and stays out of Parcells way then I don't see any problems.
