Here's the amazing thing about Marbury: he's made 2 all-star games (and probably should have made more), made over $130M in his career, ranks 20th in NBA history in assists (15th in assists per game), is in the top 100 all time for pretty much every other major stat but rebounds and blocks and is scored by basketball-reference.com as having a 20% Hall of Fame probability...yet he's almost universally regarded as a failure. What a strange career.

 

Also have to give him credit for making a go with his $15 shoe line. Basically trying to combat the insanity that is the $150+ basketball shoe.

He was paid a based on sales, rather than an endorsement fee. Conversely, Lebron got what, $90 million out of high school to endorse Nike?
