Garvey has tried to buy them in th epast but wa snever able to gather enough cash. I suspect this will be no different, especially since McCourt is still refusing to sell.

I wouldn't mind having Orel and Garvey as the faces of ownership. They have always been good Dodger citizens.

Garvey is an underappreciated player his 1,200 consecutive game streak has lasted quite awhile.

McCourt is a hustler who sort of has taken the Dodgers Franchise, one of the premium ones in the NL, hostage to his personal problems, despise the Dodgers generally speaking, but hate to see them run into the ground.

McCourt should have never been approved ot buy the Dodgers. He tried to buy the Red Sox using the same strategy and was denied. Two years later he uses the same heavily leveraged deal to purchase the Dodgers. In a way, MLB is to blame for this as well.

    McCourts are awful.

What is worse is he is now taking out loans on future revenues for advertising to pay current expenses, when he is finally gone the new owners will be in bad shape and will basically be forced to slash payroll or just throw tens of millions at the team as if it were a hobby and not a business.

Same story in SD though, Moore or Moorad wound up with a divorce that just sank the franchise, then "new" owner went heavily into debt to buy the team (or the team was so deeply in debt they could not do much).

MLB needs to deal with their problems, I can understand why Selig is not to keen on dealing with it as another strike would be crippling but this just won't work in the long term.

Agreed. And the evidence is starting to rear its ugly head. During the draft today, L.A. purposely passed on top tier talent that slid and ended up taking a kid who was slotted as a second or third rounder, simply to be able to sign him for cheaper than the other, better prospects. Sad state of affairs.

Once Matt Kemp (who might be the best player in baseball currently) and Andre Ethier are shipped of for pennies on the dollar, the bottom will ofiicially fall out.

Getting those 2 guys would turn the franchise around, especially Orel.....McCourt is a disaster, and needs to go away
