Murphy may just need to bulk up and get himself used to the speed and strength of the NFL game, I wouldn't call him a disappointment just yet. But Thomas has been a welcome surprise, this OL is young and talented and I can't wait to see what they can do with a few games and some chemistry under their belt.

IM not sure I like this move, DEPTH we need depth and starting talent depth. Mckinney while not a world beater was serviceable..

The FO might feel that there is a better option that will be available after cuts. Or maybe Bentley is an option as slick pointed out.

Really hoped McKinney could stick as a backup at least. Trusting a rookie G without a hardy vet backup like McKinney is usually a recipe for disaster. Unless he really doesn't have anything left in the tank, he shouldn't have been cut.

I believe the FO has someone in mind because this line needs depth and wouldn't cut a player without another player in mind.

Interesting move considering the depth, but we'll see. I think this may exactly be a move for Bentley

I would love having Bently come in, but it would surprise me to cut McKinney with the sole-purpose of bringing him in.

I would imagine Parsnips/Sporano arent above doing a PUP much like the Patriots, or that there must have been somebody farther down the list than McKinney.

I really think whether or not they already have somebody in mind for this spot, McKinney just wasnt good enough to make the team

Yeah but McKinney was injured throughout camp. If a guy can't stay healthy, whats the point of keeping him? Bring in another guy that can do the job, whether its the backup job or the starting job.

Honestly, I don't think so. With him running very badly (heard a report that he ran in the 7's) and who knows if he can pass a physical. I'd like him here because I still think he can be a productive player but I wouldn't want to pay him without some injury-language in the contract.

Yeah, this screams of "not healthy" more than ability...if the man isn't or can't be in there, he can't compete...

I would like him here......if healthy. What would be the point of releasing an unhealthy veteran for another unhealthy veteran? Bentley is coming off major surgeries that almost had his legs amputated and is now running in the 7's for the 40 yard dash. I'm somewhat scared to sign him.

I was a bit surprised when i heard of this move on the radio this afternoon. With our lack of depth along the line, I thought he was a lock to make it for sure. Not the best in the league, but definitely serviceable as a backup

i would much rather a unhealthy bentley on my team than a unhealthy mckinney.nobody's really sure if bentley is unhealthy and to what extent of his er unhealthiness. this was more a mckinney not progressing in his unhealthiness as he should be so they cut him to make the room.

i don't like that 7's time either but as long as we don't use him at wr he is still better than "mooseknuckles 2." we will still probly see another vet picked up for depth alone.
