That's right, I have a sign and trade agreement in place for one Steven Jackson. Where I tag him, and then the team interested gives me compensation after he isn't signed. Just thought I'd let you guys know. BTW, this was the team's idea who is trading for him. their idea to let everyone know... no ****.

Those numbers will get slaughtered this year. I fully expect levitre to get me a 3rd and Rinehart a 6 or 7.
I don't think so as tags have their own rules. I am thinking of leaving Byrd as a 2 1sts tag. I would be happy either way. Or I might go the sign and trade route.
well technically you are still losing a FA, you just happen to not want to pay him the extra 1-2 million as a franchised player and other teams still have to outbid others for their services. I think it would be a way to get some kind of compensation that wouldn't be 2 1sts.
Levitre's not gonna get a 3rd. Transition and franchise players signed to new deals by other teams count.
that doesn't make sense... particularly the franchise tagged players signing to new deals... you shouldn't receive comp picks for them since you are getting compensation anyway (since they are franchise tagged).... transition players though?
You have 2 OL at the 4th last year. People are flush with cash and Levitre is arguably better then both those guys (#1 pff pass blocker at guard). I say 50/50 chance. Especially once the tags come in and take most of the prime guys off the board.
This part I was serious about. There's likely 1 3rd rounder, 1. There's no way the highest paid FA is going to be a frickin guard.
Quiet, Koch lover. But yes, tagged players are no longer considered UFAs once they are tagged, thus are no longer part of the UFA compensatory process.
So what you're saying is... Since I traded Mike Vick who will go for 21mil in FA, I will get a 2nd round comp pick
Not the highest but within that group. Yup. Look at the deals negative rated OL got from the cut list. $4 mill plus. Teams have been neglecting their OL for a while now. I know of 2 guys right now who are prepared to spend big. If it weren't for the fact its cheaper to franchise Byrd and that I plan to spend at RT....I'd have franchised him.
It is a small group of FA for that position so its possible he gets Nicks money, but then again people may have spent a good portion now during cut in terms of their set expenditures for guards. The Offensive tackles will bring in more money and push him down, especially with some of the names there. Throw in some possible WRs and CBs he could be 13-16th highest signed FA, I figure for his lowest comp pick value.
Real question.. And it's probably somewhere out there but I'm lazy. When do the comp picks count against your salary cap? As soon as their released?
What topic changer? You do realize there is more then 1 3rd right? I said WITHIN that group. Up to 4 3rds can be issued in any comp year. I could see him being in range. If I even let him get on the market. I may franchise him over Byrd. Seriously look at that list and tell me 3 guys who will get more cash? Once those tags are in.....OL is where the money will be spent.
