http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d80ffd844&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true Do you think Miami will look at Ingram, Nelson or Casey at TE? I am looking forward to day two to see what we can do to build on day 1.
Day 2 is where great draft classes are born. I fully expect to see gems come from day 2 this year and hopefully the Fins can snag some.
I know it'll sound weird but we like David martin and Joey haynos. They've earned spots on this team for next year (and Fasano obviously, but thats a given)
Shawn Nelson or Cornelius Ingram would be nice. Ramses Barden or Jarett Dillard at WR. Jarron Gilbert, Terrance Taylor, Dorell Scott on the DL. Jasper Brinkley, Darry Beckwith, Jason Williams sound nice as well.
I know we are but contracts are coming up, and perhaps we could get another weapon that is still on the board that can better that group talent wise. Just a thought.
Just doing my part . I don't really think we need Dorell Scott because I happen to like Randy Starks and Soliai at NT but would not be upset one bit if he is there.
I'm not worried at all about day 1 (enjoyed our selections) and am looking forward to day 2. Go Phins.
Wouldn't disagree one bit myself. Kendall Langford was a huge find in the 3rd round last year (All-Rookie team I think), and is going to be a mainstay for quite some time. I'd love to see Michael Johnson, Jason Williams, or Cornelius Ingram in rd 3.
7 picks tomorrow, I definitely woudlnt mind seeing the phins calling upon terrence taylor the DT from Michigan, and Ramses Barden the calpoly WR. Beckwith could be a nice addition too though.
Johnson or Scott in round 3 would be great. Then just keep digging. Id say Casey would be a great target, but his value to us declined slightly with Pat White being drafted. Id expect us to hit the DL and LBs fairly hard, with some offense at RB or OL. I still think we are not looking at WR, especially with White. God knows we need him to play some, we cant draft a player in round 2 for the 5-8 snaps a game we do wildcat.
I think at this point, Michael Johnson is great value. Your not investing large money into a guy who takes games off. He'd be your future weak side rusher. Lawrence Sidbury Jr. is an absolute option. Jason Williams of Western Illinois is a good cover linebacker whose got great range and upfield speed. I also think that we will take a running back tomorrow and there are quite a few options. Shonn Greene really fits the smashmouth offense. He's got good power, quick and while he lacks the long speed, he wears defenses down. Some had him pegged as a second rounder but I think teams got scared of his weight issues when he hit 300 pounds in one off-season. Further, I think Glenn Coffee is an option as well as Cedric Peerman. James Davis is a good, one cut and go back that fits well in here. Durable player who produced despite some struggles and then last, Andre Brown of NC State. Powerful guy whose got good speed as well. Poor man's Jonathan Stewart possibly. Has durability issues but I like the guy a lot.
Could definately see us going RB. I dont see both Ricky and Ronnie coming back next year. This could be the time we look for a Barber/Jacobs type bruiser.
I'm definately partial to Michael Johnson since he's a GT guy. He is freakishly tall and has a great wingspan, but will have to bulk up in the weight room. He has a good head on his shoulders and could be that outside pass rush we need ala Jason Taylor in that 3-4 D. In the casual passing conversations with him on campus he hasn't come across arrogant or cocky with the BMOC syndrome, just real down to earth and the kind of guy who doesn't give you the feeling that he'll go crazy with money and get into trouble. It would make this draft over the top to me if we can pull him down.
Mike Mickens and DJ moore are still out there i would really like to see us get one of them i just dont see it happening
