Started out great but struggled mightily as the year progressed. Sturgis has a hell of a leg so hopefully the rookieness has left him. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I have faith he'll be better than he was last year. Problem with last year was we all got all crazy hyped because he didn't miss JACK for a while...then reality hit. He had to adjust, and seemed to have a rough go of it, considering our expectations. He's had a full off-season to work on it, I think he'll show marked improvement.
I think he'll be good. Started out strong, hit a rough patch, then in the end his numbers were fine. Really strong leg. 99% chance he's our man in 2014, and I'd bet going forward too.
Sturgis was 26 out of 34 for the year. He started the year 10 of 10. I believe he was run into in the Baltimore game, went on to miss kicks in that game and the following week against NE and missed 8 or 1/3 out of his last 24 kicks. I think if he continues missing a third of his kicks, we should look elsewhere.
I'd take Carp back if I could....he hit a rough patch but was a damn good kicker. Sturgis appeared to have beginners luck and that wore off real quick. If he regains his early season form we'll be ok. That said, the end of last year didn't look to convincing
Up in the air. Has to prove himself this year to stick with the Dolphins long term. I too liked Carpenter. But, I hope Sturgis really come on and gains confidence and power even. Would be great to have another Vinatieri.
