Barry Jackson always has interesting non-bias stuff.

 

Way to mix and match the comments guys made to point out Jackson's underlying belief that Philbin isn't the guy we need here. Don't know who's right or who's wrong yet, we haven't played any games, but I think the overall prognosis' are pretty close..we're going thru a 'growing period', so SB aspirations are expected anyway from most fans...

 

PFF also rated Bess as 179th, Hartline 133rd, and Naanee as 200th among WRs rated in 2011.

Naanee must be the greatest practice player of all time. According to PFF, he was statistically the worst receiver in the NFL and yet here he is on our team.

 

It really is no surprise, we all can see this coming, my hope is young talent emerges on offense at Wr and OL.

 

With them they measure things other than stats to arrive at their ratings, because there isn't always a direct correlation between number of catches, yds per catch, etc, and their ratings. Naanee for example was 54th in number of catches among all WRs.

Add in the Defense is demoralized imo, and they are WAAAAAY over valuing Rich Marshall, you can sort of hear a train coming that is not bringing in a "winning season".

Jeff just failed miserably to address the receiver situation. There is no excuse for it. He neglected it in the draft. When the draft was over we kinda defeneded it, but guys like ck held his feet to the fire. I believe if he really thought Tannehill was going to start he would have addressed it earlier in the draft, and more aggressively in free agency. I don't' call Chad Johnson and Naanee evidence of aggressively addressing it.

 

Even IF Ireland is quietly pretty sure this team isn't going to the playoffs either way, it makes all kinds of sense to give your rookie QB better weapons to throw to if you want to accelerate his development.

 

I’m not so sure about that. Last year A&M passed for 3700 and rushed 2600. The year before it was 3600 and 2200 respectively. This preseason was designed to evaluate the QB and WR positions. I expect to see a pretty balanced attack - similar to Houston schematically and sans Johnson and Foster of course.

The 1st team defense didn't give up a TD in the last 2 games because they turned up the intensity. I don't see how you see them as demoralized.

 

To many holes as it was Mr C, this is the byproduct of regime change.

 

Oh I do, when the starters were dogging it and the 2nd stringers were making them look bad Philbin had to say something about it.

As for throwing the ball more then running it, with that blur style of offense I'd certainly expect to see more passing then running.

 

You seem to be placing a lot more credence in the 1st 2 games than the final two. As far as the blur, as you call it is concerned, just because you're lined up and ready to snap the ball with 25 seconds on the clock doesn't mean you have to. Sherman addressed that in his last presser. More time to get a tell from the defense. Obviously it's all speculation at this point, but I've seen some things I like as compared to previous teams.
