Just got in for the second half...Close game, only saw one replay of the safety, can't tell whether or not he's outside the pocket.
this is some serious defense we're seeing today. Giants just doing enough offensively to move the ball, someway somehow. Manning does some things that will make you scratch your head (the safety, he should have stepped up to avoid the rush rather than backup to help the blitzing corner).... but then he makes some throws that his receivers have to love. I wonder how Atlanta fans are liking Mularkey today eh??
The NYG have halves like this occassionally and then fall apart. They need to maintain this level of play for the rest of the playoffs defensively.
If we hire Mularkey, I'll fly to Miami and hit Ross in the face. Now, it's not his fault that they can't get a foot on fourth and inches.... it's his GM for not keeping their offensive line together, IE Harvey Dahl. But the Giants defense isn't THIS good.
Their defense has been a sore point all season. their DL is loaded but their back 7 is a lot of rookies and young players. The offensive skill spots are solid. Jerry Reese gets no play as an elite GM but he is.
Why isn't the Giants front office getting poached this offseason, they accumulate a lot of talent.. Hicks is in my top 5 at receiver..Superstar.
Giants FO was chastised before the season started for not doing enough to replace TE Kevin Boss. Letting Steve Smith go... etc. etc.
Kevin Gilbride deserves serious credit for the aggressive play calling IMO. up by 15 with 11 min's to go in the game, you think Sparano's influenced offense would call plays like this?
Heavy emphasis on developing late round players like JaQuan Williams and UFA's like Herzlich. Friendly rookie deals allow cap space to keep stars. The NYG front office wont get poached because the Mara's are great owners much like the Rooneys and some of the other football families. What a throw by Eli to Manningham. Game.
Roddy WHite took a swing, he should be tossed... White is overrated IMO... not an elite talent at WR.
Been saying it for a few years. Wow Roddy White just got blown up. Repeat of January 08 hopefully. The game earlier vs GB was great but the NYG D fell apart late. Eli was sick that game.
Falcons remind me very much of the Wanny Phins, good regular season, OL bad vs good defenss. 2 or 3 failed 4th down conversion attempts of less then 2 yds? Tsk tsk, 0-3 in the playoffs.
