"OK, here you have it (the definition of swagger): 'To walk or conduct oneself with an insolent air, strut, to boast or brag.' " he said. "So obviously swagger doesn't fit us whatsoever."

This has been pretty funny, the back story is joe was asked earlier this week if his team has swagger, he's facetiously said " oh well, I don't know about that, I'm not sure what that means, gonna have to look it up"
He's a funny guy..my hope is that he knows how to win the hearts of his players.. -
Or to instill confidence in the undecided via bold action and high performance in a given situation.

I got a kick out of this. I'm sure the locker room will be having some fun talking about swagger this week. Good stuff.
The thing about Philbin that stands out to me is the aura of just being an a overall good person. There's something about his human decency that commands respect, especially when you couple it with winning.mbsinmisc likes this. -
That is why I've not seen the Dolphins lose at home when the crowd was jacked and remained jacked throughout the entire gamedjphinfan likes this. -
Depends on how the enthusiasm is used. If one uses the energy and enthusiasm to elevate the play of other players around them, respect is earned. If your cocky, suddenly your a target. Terrell Owens, Chad Ocho Cinco, i.e
If your confident your respected and feared most of the time. Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, leaders like that. Teams change the way they play because of people like this. It is one of the things I always loved about Danny, you knew if you played him he would fight you until death -

The condition one is in when leaving a pub at 4am, indicating some degree of inebriation, is generally just an accentuation of their character when stone cold sober. Those who are generally happy when sober, get happier when drinking. Those who are generally ornery, get ornerier when drinking. Those who are generally depressed, get more depressed when drinking, so on and so forth. So a guy whom after a night of excessive libations, feels some swagger, most likely had some to begin with. Whether or not it was justified. The booze just brings it out. JMO.
