Just saw this little nugget: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/02/23/tagliabue-still-raking-in-the-green/ Quote: SBJ points out that Tagliabue could also be accepting a position with the Dolphins, which would most likely require him to give up his gig with the league office. Tagliabue reportedly has been advising on an informal basis new team owner Stephen Ross, and Ross reportedly wants to hire Tagliabue to become the vice chairman of the team.
This is interesting, not sure how Parcell will view this move, in the event that Tagliabue agrees to join the Dolphins.
Tagliabue would have nothing to do with Parcells. I think he would have to do more with the team office stuff rather then the players.
1) Tags *should* be helpful with his league contacts and knowledge 2) It may be one too many leaders in the same football-house. I'm not sure Parcells will like it, and I certainly hope Ross has discussed this with Bill to be clear on how it would or would not impact Bill.
Does not effect Bill Parcells so dont everybody freak out about it. If it happens it would be interesting and I would not mind.
Interesting report here thats for sure... Hopefully Parcells is okay with it... Is it just me, or does anyone else here think its ridiculous that everytime this team seeks to make a FO move now, we have to question whether Parcells will walk out on this team and his contract now that he has the ability to at any point in time? Personally, i think its ridiculous were in this position, however Im glad that Parcells is still here. Its quite the predicament though.
It never hurts for new owner to have some pull with the NFL structure .You will be surprised how much influence some owners have on the league and it reflects all the way down to how refs call the games. An ex commisioner has a lot contacts that can be useful .Good move IMO. BTW he is absolutely no threat to Parcells .
Found this this morning: http://blogs.herald.com/random_evidence/2009/02/test-3.html I definately think it would be a good thing. A lot of changes happening in such a short time, definately exciting to see.
