I've not seen anyone in the media talk about this, but I think that it's very cool. Obviously, today's game makes it easier to pass than it was in year's past, but still, RT17 has become just the 6th player in NFL history to pass for at least 4000 yards, throw at least 25 touchdown passes, and rush for at least 300 yards in the same season. He joins HOF Steve Young (who did it twice - 1993 & 1998), Aaron Rodgers (2009), Jeff Garcia (2000), Daunte Culpepper (2004), and Don Majkowski (1989). Interestingy, before RT joined the club, all but one season was done by a 49er or Packer. http://www.pro-football-reference.c...pos_is_db=Y&draft_pos_is_k=Y&draft_pos_is_p=Y
It gets more exclusive when you filter in his 12 or less INTs AND limit it to players in their first 3 seasons...
I know, but the sample was so small that I felt it made the point already. Tannehill's season also obviously wasn't as impressive as some others on the list, but he's young and his help isn't nearly as good.
