http://www.cnbc.com/id/100886823/page/7 CNBC released the top 10 Best Selling NFL jerseys of 2013 (so far). Probably the only surprise on the list is our own Ryan Tannehill who made it amongst expected QBs like Brady, Rodgers, RGIII. I'm sure its been a little while since a Dolphin had a top selling jersey. Marino obviously, but since then I could only see Jason Taylor or Ricky Williams as coming close.
Not to mention....no one probably has a RT jersey. Anyone who is a Brady/Rodgers/RG3 fan probably already has one of their jerseys.
I was in a mall in Bergen county NJ yesterday and they had all Giants and Jets jerseys in Champs......and a Tannehill jersey. No other players or teams I gotta say I'm not a big jersey guy but the new dolphin/Nike jerseys look awesome comfortable durable and actually worth the money
I can't say its that impressive, its a young guy combined with an all new jersey for the team, its kind of sad that Maurice Jones-Drew isn't on this list to honest, although I guess the Jags fans might not be all that excited to buy a new jersey after just getting a new one 3 years ago
I would say its impressive. Seems to indicate two things. One that optimism about RT is very high and on more than just a local level. And two that the jersey/logo redesign has been a success. I don't know which would be the bigger factor.
That white jersey is clean and fresh.. I've said before the logo and new color scheme to me is so simple and cool it can rep Miami on its own, like a cross over logo for the city, know what I mean?
That's amazing. Based on the top 10 there is an interest in all the QB's across the board....... but Tannehill outsells Luck? Maybe his Texas roots has a lot to do with it. Those people follow their college guys religiously. I remember that Texas sold a ton of Zach Thomas Dolphin jerseys the first few years after he was drafted.
I think that's debatable. Jerseys weren't even available with the new logo until May. According the the Dolphins pro shop jersey link the only new jersey listed as top seller so far is Mike Wallace. A Tannehill jersey is listed as a top seller but it's the old version Aqua jersey not the new. I think it has a lot to do with the overall interest generated by all the young up and coming QB's as they are all on the list....... except for Luck surprisingly.
That's probably a huge part, but I wonder if another part is that in Indy, everyone has a Manning jersey, and they're waiting to make sure Luck is not only the real deal, but comparable to Manning.
Dorfman predicted? With a name like Dorf maybe he shouldn't predict stuff publicly and just stick to the facts.
There's nothing to get into. Luck has not proven he can be as good as Manning yet. He's shown flashes, but it hasn't been proven from a tape, stat or record standpoint yet.
My guess is that most people bought Luck jerseys last season. Sent from my HTC One GE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Nothing wrong with discussion. Not going to lie, I am not sold on either Luck or Wilson. Especially Wilson.
So when the stats show Luck is as good as manning thats when you think colt fans should go buy his jersey?..I think his upside is every bit as good so maybe those spoiled brats of fans you speak of should lighten up.
You'll notice I said "tape, stats and record", not just stats. Remember, I'm the one that thinks stats and tape are important in properly evaluating a player, not one or the other.
As much as I like the new logo/uni, Tannehill being number 6 on that list has little to do with the new uniforms. The new uniforms are what, a couple of months new. This data is since January, when the old logo and uniform were selling. It may have helped but I am with Coral on this one, nothing really to do with the new uniforms
