already ran an extensive thread on the offensive line & what I thought could be done, months ago. what I know cannot be done is to successfully build an OL around Pouncey through the draft in time for next season.
1) would fire Turner immediately & find a proven NFL OL Guru to coach up this motley crew.
2) would go after Maurkice In free-agency, moving Mike to left-pulling guard, re-sign Incognito at RG, try to negotiate a favorable contract for McKinnie & Clabo, then pick up a tackle to groom & possibly compete in the draft.
about this & that: my earlier predictions about Tannehill not surviving a record breaking rookie & franchise sacking unfortunately became reality. apparently, no one noticed that Tannehill was injured & folded like a tent in his last two games of the season, ending our hopes for a play-off. all this because of neglecting an offensive line.
I like Philbin but have to place the destruction of our season & near-destruction of our franchise QB squarely on his shoulders... he simply should have known better. it all begins in the trenches. hope Tannehill gets over it & this does not mar his future development. in this sense I can see why he lost faith in Sheridan & a new OC is a priority.

There is no way Incognito comes back. I like the rest of your ideas though. I would draft at least 3 OL in the first 5 rounds though. Adds depth and gives us options for injuries/guys not playing well.

and I agree with in as much as there will ultimately be some kind mix & match... I was thinking (behind the thought/thread) that we would ultimately have to go into free-agency or consign ourselves to more of the same in 2014
about Igcognito
what if the final decree is nothing more than a chastisement & lecture about "racial sentient" & "playfulness"
what if he were willing to return at cut-rate prices? like him, don't like him... he is one of the best available guards
at what point do you persecute someone who has been found innocent ? Is this fair to the team, the franchise or him? -

not sure I'd want Maurkice after that injury. center is too important to take that risk IMO. we tried that trick this preseason, pinning our hopes on a guard that could recover from a major injury.

I think you've got to find at least 3 new starters, and maybe only one has to be from the draft. Don't know how many good O-lines out there run with more than 1 rookie starter.
They have their center, so IMO they need to figure out another player in the roster that can start as a guard next season. Maybe Dallas Thomas' balls drop and he's able to contribute.
That leaves 3 spots to fill, so you try to find a good LT in FA, shore up that all important position, find another good guard, and then go to the draft only needing a starting RT.
I really don't want McKinnie, Clabo nor Icognito to even sniff a starting spot for this team. -
Re: Tannehill, Philbin & the Offensive Line:
1. He was having a bad year anyway before the suspension. No guarantee be plays well next year and in a good year I think he's pretty overrated.
2. Off the field, even if nothing comes of the bullying stuff, he still has the golf outing nonsense hanging over him. For that alone I wouldn't bring him back.
I agree that we're going to need a mix of free agency, draft and current roster players to form the starting 5 for next year. I just don't think Incognito will (or should) be a part of that.

How many threads are you going to start on the same subject with the same exact details? And as you've been told before, Ma. Pouncey is NOT a free agent in 2014.

Everything you post now, I read in Charlie's voice. It's like you're yelling at everyone.Clark Kent and resnor like this. -
then you take the best tackle available at 19 and play him at RT. and you draft a guard within the next couple rounds, another one late in the draft, and they all compete with Garner/Dallas Thomas for one guard spot while the vet you signed in FA locks down the other guard spot.
LT - Veldheer/Monroe
LG - Garner/Dallas Thomas/rookie draft picks
C - Mike Pouncey
RG - Asamoah/Schwartz/Beadles
RT - Tiny Richardson/Kouandjio/La'el Collins -
LT: Albert
RT: First round pick
C: Pouncey
From there I think you can fill the guard spots with either proven veterans who may not be big names or draft picks and still have a solid line.
Another idea that intrigues me is signing Mack and moving Pouncey to guard.
LT: First round pick/Resign Mckinney
RT: Mckinnie/First rounder
C: Mack
RG: Pouncey
LG: Free agent/Draft pick -
