So wait- he played QB and safety in college.....and entered the NFL as a wide receiver? He must be an awesome athlete. I don't know anything about him.
I see a lot of people liked this move... don't know anything about him either. Anyone know exactly why he was cut from the Seahawks?
Okay, I did some reading. He's 6 foot 6 and runs a 4.5 40, and the kid can line up almost anywhere on the field and compete. He's also a quick study and has a good mind for football. To me he sounds more like a prospect but at that size/speed, it's worth the chance that he develops into something special.
Seattle coaches say they like his instincts at safety, fans think he’s that master of none guy, some think he should bulk up and play tight end..
Didn't know anything about him before this. He doesn't look like a guy who will ever be your starter, but he could be a glue guy. One of those guys who's athletic enough and smart enough to be able to fill in at S, WR or maybe even TE if you have injuries. Maybe play on STs and have a few special plays like a wildcat, redzone target or even be an emergency QB. Maybe help run the scout team when we're playing a running QB. He seems to fit the culture we're trying to build. Not a bad bottom of the roster guy who could actually contribute now and develop into a valuable part of the team.
I agree with your post and like the last part about bottom roster guys and their value to a team. I feel that gets overlooked a lot!
