Taylor and Porter moving in opposite directions http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/spo...aveHyde-blog+(Dave+Hyde+|+Sun+Sentinel+blogs)
Hmmm interesting, how So? I feel they are actually the exact opposite. Meaning that they are both in the ending years of there career. They been very productive at the end of games, thus giving up big plays in the 4th quarter. Either way there still 2 great vet's that any nfl team would love to have!
i don't see them going in opposite directions either .... both shouldn't be on the field full time .... Taylor might be a bit more versatile, but neither is lighting it on fire. we need something better for next year to take that next step on defense -- and that answer if Merriman.
since when is 8 sacks not a lot with 3 games to go? He can still end up with double digit sacks with missing 3 or so games thus far.
Our defense has played well the last two games. Why care about individual achievements unless you're out of the playoffs?
i still don't find them moving in opposite directions .... neither can play on the field for a full season, they both need rest. do you really feel comfortable with these 2 as your starting OLBs again next year ? Even if Wake can get increased playing time .... we need LBs, LBs, LBs for next year .... 2 starters at a minimum (1 ILB and 1 OLB)
JT is being asked to do a lot more than be a sackmaster in his new role with us. If you want to assess how well he is maintaining his lane, setting the edge against the RT or RT and TE (more doible teams), and how well he is scraping off blocks to make plays in the run game and readinf screens, etc., then you can talk about his production. Much as Matt Roth was not a sack master, being a Strongside OLB in this system is not judged by sacks alone.
Jason has improved his overall game. That said, he is wearing down a bit, yes. This is the opposite of his old habit of starting slow then catching fire.
