Sounds like JT might not be telling the whole truth here.
-
-
If that's true, that's pretty messed up. If you wanted to chase money just admit it, it would be a lot more honorable than trying to get the fans up in arms because the FO didn't give you the money you thought you deserved for a single digit sack season being in for over 800 plays.
-
Who knows?
Both sides have an incentive to lie at this point. Just let it be bygones. JT did what he had to do, same as the team.
We can laugh about it a few years from nowDisnardo, eric, steveincolorado and 2 others like this. -
Man that would be hilarious if the Jets did not make the playoffs and we did. Same as the last time he cut bait and ran to the skins. If that happens I am all fo him wearing a Patriots uniform the following year. There seems to be a pattern.

If this is true, that sure does change much of the perspective that many people on here were having towards the situation. Much of their argument was based on the fact that the FO had no communication with JT, gave any indication of their plans for him, or was basically out to screw JT's agent. If indeed an offer was made and JT flat out refused for whatever reason (as reported in another thread, he was primarily out for more money), that argument is no longer valid.
-
JT said he was offered a 1.5 mill contract right after the regular season, but didnt accept it because he wanted to see in FA and since it was an uncapped year he thought we might up the offer, but in December miami took the offer off the board and never put it back up

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
He's a prima donna who vanished in the biggest game situations. Everyone seems to feel the love for him, but for some reason I never did.
And for him to say that deep down "he really liked Jet fans" just shows what a disingenuous tool he really is.
Good riddance.DOLPHAN1, Ozzy, late again and 7 others like this. -
He makes me sick.. He never helped us get to the superbowl in his prime... He wont help the Jets get to one either.

It won't matter a bit the first time he spins off of Jake to come around the corner and Polite chips his *** in the dirt. I can't wait.

taylor lied to the Dolphins before and now he has lied to the fan base in attempt to get them angry at the FO.
i've been trying to tell everyone about this guy since I've been here and I took major heat for it. He is a drama queen.
where are all the player fans at now? not here to defend this jackass huh?
i love how everyone raved about what a great season he had last year yet the article clearly states he was on the field for 800 plays with only 30 tackles. that is pathetic.
jason taylor is washed up on the field and a liar off the field.felly smarts, padre31, DolfanJake and 1 other person like this. -

So basically he sold out for 500K?!?!?!?!?......All the great plays he made, trash talking, all the games won, playoff games, heartbreaking losses, and thrilling wins he shared with Miami. It was worth an extra 500 grand to absolutely be the biggest Benedict Arnold in football......??

I saw this clown for what he was 2 years when he did Sambas on a dance floor instead of being the leader we needed by being at OTA's and mini-camps. Some people fail to remember he blew off the organization, and NEVER gave Sparano or Parcells even a chance. He demanded a trade. At that point I saw him for what he really was, and it was never as a TRUE Miami Dolphin. He is a 2 faced money wh*re, and there is no way to sugarcoat it.

Another thing, he really doesn't have too much regard for Dolphins fans if he believes that he will be welcomed back for a Ring of Honor or HoF ceremony, he has another thing coming.
So just remember that, those that support him, he doesn't really care about you, or his Dolphins legacy.Tin Indian, Killerphins, dolpns13 and 1 other person like this. -
"Me being up here may or may not add more fuel to the fire, but as far as the Jets fans are concerned, I'm one of you guys now."

Whateva this is the last time I post on this thread, the draft is here, time to move forward, and get a real good young OLB.....
I wish Jason Taylor bad luck in his future endeavors..... -
Let it be already. He's a jest now. He gave us some great memories over the years. He and Zach could always be counted on when the offense sputtered. Just let it be. The draft will be here in a few hours and we'll have a new defender to replace him.

I'm inclined to believe the FO did in fact make him an offer (after the extension they offered and he declined last November). Assuming that's true, then he not only was playing games to try and get every last nickle he thought he could get (damn the consequences), he's also lying about it now.
Good riddens Jason Taylor. I'm glad you're a Jest now. You're gonna hate it when they start booing you due to poor play, and I'm gonna laugh my a** off! -
-
sigh. I promised myself not to be sucked into this silliness.
Backing away.

This is a time for celebration of the Draft, but my goodness my fellow phinfans, isn't it obvious Taylor was shaping things to put himself into the best light possible?Disnardo likes this. -
I'm not sure who is in more jeopardy, a NFL qb facing the Jest, or a teammate in between Taylor and a HBO camera crew. -
It's not like the Dolphins didn't give JT the same icy treatment the previous two offseasons.
None other than Zach Thomas has taken the organization to task for the way it has handled this, and deals with star players publicly.
It wasn't Taylor's side that leaked the scheduled secret meeting with Sparano a few weeks ago. It wasn't Taylor's side that leaked the contract offer in 2009. Taylor didn't say ANYTHING the entire offseason, other than he wanted to be a Dolphin.
The front office is leaking this stuff to cover their *** with the fans after the fact. Just like the they leaked the stuff about Ryan Clark after the fact.
I'm calling BS on this contract offer. And I'm calling BS on the stuff about "he played 800 plays, didn't do much" critique from the same 'unnamed source'.
You signed him to be a 35-year old situational pass rusher. But he ends up starting 16 games on the strongside. And you pulled him out on third down.
I support this team to the end. But they aren't above reproach here.Disnardo, unluckyluciano, taaff and 2 others like this. -
JT went dancin' with the stars when Parcells watched.
JT was offered the 1 year contract to sign with us out of respect(then need) from Parcells.
JT left us for big money after the 1-15 season when we needed him most.
JT was offered an extension last November.Don't know the details but rumor has it that JT nixed it? Not sure.....some say the FO pulled the offer off the table? Why would they do that? You don't offer contracts in Nov. unless you want to keep that said person.
It all sounds fishy,Mr. JT. -
