That is the role he should have had in Miami, 3rd wr/Returner, nice deep speed off of the bench. Eh, we will see if Nolan Carroll is worth Ted Ginn.
I thought keeping him as a deep option to go with Marshall, Hartline, etc was a good idea but hey lets face it, he was in the dog house and the coaches in the Parcells tree don't keep guys around once they get in the dog house. Ginn always seemed like a decent guy, hope he does well in SF.
Watched their game last night and he didn't look great. Bad return (he tried to come to a complete stop and got swallowed up) and ball went through his hands on a quick screen (it was thrown really hard for such a short throw - but he should have had it). Not sure that change of scenery is helping. Too bad - seems like a good kid.
Eh, we all know Ted Ginn by now PN, in SG he will be fortunate to catch more than 30 passes, but he will handle returns as the Niners cut LeeRoy Van, Ginn is it. And I'm sticking by my prediction, if Ginn has over 2k all purpose yds Ireland had his pocket picked for only a 5th rd pick.
Ginn hasn't looked good in TC, and we all know he blows on the field. Of course he's a lock to win the #3 job. Anyone else know who the hell Dominique Zeigler and Jason Hill are? Ginn will be in Singletary's doghouse and out of the league shortly.
i dont know if he was in our doghouse per se. I think the decision to get rid of him came down to two factors. One, he is affected by fan reactions it seems and I have a feeling the front office just felt there would be too much negative pressure on the guy this year. Two, how much do you pay a #3 or #4 receiver. This FO is always looking to save money to keep the cap in balance. I think paying a #3 or #4 WR 1million or 2 million dollars is (not sure what his contract was) would be more than they allocate for that position. The fact he returned kicks made me think they would be willing to do it but I think if you add the fact that the fans hated him it was too much for them to keep him around
every year ireland has one cut or trade that leaves me scratching my head. Two years ago it was P Donnie Jones, last year it was SLB Matt Roth, this year it was Ted Ginn. I think they got lucky in that they picked up Carroll. Of course, if they didnt have that pick they might have still grabbed him with the Reshard Jones pick so its hard to say if we really did get lucky
I don't know I can't see the front office really making any decisions based upon fan pressure on a player, he wasn't making too much money for a guy that could have given us 6-10 TDs as a returner/3rd wideout. I think he just dropped too many passes and the coaching staff lost faith in him, he got in the doghouse and that was that.
