Ted Ginn/Desean Jackson

I remember you, me, and a handful of others being on an island by ourselves for quite some time after that pick.

 

I guess everyone just ignored Tressel when he said Ginn had the best hands on the team...and that included fellow 1st round pick A. Gonzalez.

 

I was there....I think two things that made the Ginn hater's blood boil were the fact that most everybody was in love with Quinn!! People didnt just like him...they LOVED him and when he feel to #9 those people began to have "swet dreams" before Goodell brought out the card. But when they announced the name Ginn, the shock factor began to kick in....just because he was not Quinn. I think if we woulda selected Patrick Willis you wouldve heard alot of boo's still.

That and when you have a fan base with the majority being from Florida, you usually get alot of Dolphins fans being Gator fans or Hurricane fans....and lets be real alot of those fans just plain "Hate" Ohio State for one reason or another and since that's where Ginn played that was yet ANOTHER strike against him. Ted Ginn never really had a chance with the average fan. But its nice to see alot of people coming around seeing that he may have a very bright future and might play a huge role in restoring us to our winning ways.

 

Nice. I think they also ignored (or just didn't hear) the old saying in Columbus that said: "The only guy who can stop Ted Ginn is......Jim Tressel."

 

I thought we'd pick Ginn...but only because Quinn was gone at that point I won't lie, I freaked the hell out when I heard Shefter say, "not so fast". Getting Beck in the 2nd made me feel a lot better, but until we picked Beck I was furious
