http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/ted-ginn-jr-names-afc-special-teams-player-month In five games in November, Ginn racked up 646 yards on 21 kick returns, a 31.7 yard average, while taking two of the returns for touchdowns. On the season Ginn has returned 29 kicks for 836 yards, a 28.8 yard average, which is currently tops in the AFC. Congrats to Ginn. Hope to see him run another back this Sunday. He's due.
We've found our franchise kick returner! Seriously though, he does a really great job on special teams. It's the remainder of his game that suffers.
For everyone that criticizes him into the ground, you've also got to step up and give the man some credit where it's due. Great Special Teamer.
As much as I dislike Ted Ginn, and his family, without him on our team we are most likely 3-8 right now.
He wins us the Jets game and loses us the Colts game and had a big effect on the Saints game Without him we are better than 5-6 because the other players could not have been worse except for the Jets game
The defense lost us the Colts and Saints games. Congrats to Ginn for this recognition. Posted via Mobile Device
ahh no, he had two outstanding returns and the rest has been pretty much the same garbage you get from Ginn
Yeah like the two returns into the 40/50s in the Carolina game? Please, get the facts straight when you bash.
Grats Ginn, now if we can see you get the honors as Offensive Player of the Week for tearing off a crapload of yards and a trio of TDs against the Pats I'll be happy!
BTW, if you want to get a realy picture of Ginn is doing most of the time take out the two 100 yard returns against the Jets and see what you are left with. Less than 24 yards per return...
lets just say, he should'nt get complacent with this award, he needs to improve his game as a returner.
I thought thats what the FULL STATS do...overall body of work....not pulling out the successes and claiming he sucks cause all thats left is cherry picking of non-successes??
I always laugh when you say something like "Hey, Player X had a great game with Y amount of yards last week!" And the other guy says "Yeah but if you take away that one play for Z yards, he sucked!" Okay, you're right. Edit: Sorry about the algebra.
No, what you said was take out the two long runs. I still find another few great returns. In a thread about being AFC ST player of the MONTH, you knocked him. He was great in returns that month. Take away Henne's 7 TDs and he only has 7 INts. Anyone can play that game. If you look at NFL rankings, he's 4th in average among those who have more than a decent number of returns. Only him and Harvin have 2 TDs. Now, the thing is, yes he should improve. That would make him even better. Whether he does or not, is up to him. Or coaching. We complain about him running out of bounds. The first, shame on him, the second, shame on our coaches. "You fight for that extra yardage or you sit on the bench." Why hasn't that been said yet? Are the coaches saying, "good job, avoid contact so you can be a WR?" Sometimes we don't ask the most simple question of our coaches.
Like i said, obviously he isn't what we hoped he is at the position he was drafted for. Keep him as a field stretcher and a reutrn man. The only thing is salary, if that could be taken care of, i dont see a reason not to keep him.
end of Tampa Bay game Bucs kick off from their own 15 Ginn lets the ball roll right by him for 10 yards bad judgement that is your special teams player of the month
Atleast when we miss on first round picks they turn into good special teamers. Ginn and Allen atleast gave us something.
that is a shining example of ginn's lack of focus on returns thought I would point it out is all may I note he also ran out of bounds a few times
Yeah, I can rip and be disappointed with the best of them....but I have no problem commending them for what they are capable of and cheering for when they produce....silly to only rip and claim nothing is worthy of cheering...thats beyond fanaticism thats just blatant blindness. We need more pieces to the puzzle and we need to execute and become champions...its not hard to understand...just hard to achieve. Root for them regardless.
Yeah but if you take away all the TD's Marino threw to Clayton and Duper his numbers are average at best.
Actually, just for poops and laughs, I googled their TD's. He still has almost 300 TD's if you don't count the Marks Bros.
