I tip my hat to the guy. to be honest, he had a good career, winning three S/B's. came back from a stroke, maybe its just time to move on. I wish teddy nothing but the best.

It's speculative at best at this point, but this is probably what it's about. -
It's clear from watching the Pats/Skins game that Bruschi was done. He was beaten badly in coverage and was behind the play the entire time he was in the game. I'm sure the Pats gave him the chance to retire instead of releasing him, which is a classy move.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tedy Bruschi retired Monday after a 13-year NFL career in which he won three Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots and made a gallant return from a stroke.
The inside linebacker played for no other team and leaves football with only one unachieved goal — a fourth championship.

belichick gives his players the opportunuty to go out in style, whether or not the they take it is another thing--think troy brown, he played all of one down his final year, belichick pretty much wasted to spot for him, showing troy the respect he deservedcalphin likes this.
